Here are two cards I’ve made with it: </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0sqrCMiCZLzVKWzfappM67zpgDkFf8bnEEQSnVjD4CxbRAnSKrXbZFatoaK3HeIg5wBJHpjLx5UEZN6LgW-cQ956r-fMvz_9sqieLlh-Smmy7uykcmF0vAIgvDB-RfOn1zsF2lE3eQbXekIRdojrYkTX727slI0KOOTcgSJ7FRdeDCtUmutZiZUOp/s4027/IMG_0722.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2323" data-original-width="4027" height="185" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0sqrCMiCZLzVKWzfappM67zpgDkFf8bnEEQSnVjD4CxbRAnSKrXbZFatoaK3HeIg5wBJHpjLx5UEZN6LgW-cQ956r-fMvz_9sqieLlh-Smmy7uykcmF0vAIgvDB-RfOn1zsF2lE3eQbXekIRdojrYkTX727slI0KOOTcgSJ7FRdeDCtUmutZiZUOp/s320/IMG_0722.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>For the first card, I used Sage pattern paper from the recently retired Sweet Memories collection. I love the dimension of the chick Thin Cuts layered in the circle cut out.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRY2YIXUCn4nSfl0VR3WERs0N-wfdV-VyEnt1Gq6fzsHlu9WevGxTrLxpO1h4NQGJ2fF2-3mbujvsoN0OTGwRO2cWnaFaTMpuFFFh9DPLvd-YLXphCVVZzxAVKj82Rafq5tpv3_8XAvMcCYXOQMS6HhB_AIzT6yyXmGR9EYjBVb-EIGwy5BDclv0k6/s4032/IMG_0723.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRY2YIXUCn4nSfl0VR3WERs0N-wfdV-VyEnt1Gq6fzsHlu9WevGxTrLxpO1h4NQGJ2fF2-3mbujvsoN0OTGwRO2cWnaFaTMpuFFFh9DPLvd-YLXphCVVZzxAVKj82Rafq5tpv3_8XAvMcCYXOQMS6HhB_AIzT6yyXmGR9EYjBVb-EIGwy5BDclv0k6/s320/IMG_0723.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>Although it doesn’t show well in the picture, I used my Honey Butter shimmer brush to add some depth and sparkle to the little chicks.<br /><p>To save time on the second card, I die cut the chicks from the light side of Honey Butter cardstock so that I only had to color the beak and feet with colored pencil. (I added Honey Butter shimmer brush accents too). </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1ckGhIME0G_85kppb0PtOrGXjxgDdcuw_k6bTvUyWozNYe8otHNFDrcmvqdZbiXBAvzkInWLvQZqF-Q_-mSWQzNa6VMSKD-4JeIaTU5nd3h0V6ssp8eBoDQ5UKcNnLf_6OsiLjdDx8GxdHXE9yK1EovqvbiIwVHBD6lpodIoCZTE1ram6nqo4jqsk/s4032/IMG_0724.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1ckGhIME0G_85kppb0PtOrGXjxgDdcuw_k6bTvUyWozNYe8otHNFDrcmvqdZbiXBAvzkInWLvQZqF-Q_-mSWQzNa6VMSKD-4JeIaTU5nd3h0V6ssp8eBoDQ5UKcNnLf_6OsiLjdDx8GxdHXE9yK1EovqvbiIwVHBD6lpodIoCZTE1ram6nqo4jqsk/s320/IMG_0724.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I used the retired postage frames Thin Cuts for the frame. I also used the cloud background Thin Cuts as a stencil with a blending brush and Glacier ink to make the sky. I use the same blending brush technique to create the Sage ground. Finally, I added a little Black Diamond Stickles to each chicks' eye for added dimension.</p><p>Be sure to grab your <a href="https://haleyd.closetomyheart.com/ctmh/promotions/sotm.aspx" target="_blank">March stamp of the month</a> to send some love to all the chicks you need to check on!</p>Haley D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04461831597066228970noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6822715369486413462.post-37992794835941389832024-03-09T00:30:00.001-05:002024-03-09T00:30:00.252-05:00Project 24: 02b, A Day in the Life<p>Since this year is a Leap Year, I chose February 29 to document "A Day in the Life" and talked my family into participating. I sent them some photo prompt ideas, and here are the results. I'm pretty sure everything used on this layout is retired, but I think it’s a fun way to document the end of 2023. This layout uses the retired Four Seasons- Winter collection with my own design.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMOdBbzRkwimo3ScGWTvH6mdIUi7gKVDsxrPEUPoxD4ziLmuXH4EJmuGTy3n5FSphdAy7yhgrZs0s_ZrCEvhEecAF2BTiFaty9MGTtSaIfuZNH5x5SyzhP01tv33AqjcMtDIuJ0ZfHIsVFVZt1uV5Opn4C3M9rLy1kzq2_oPEt_-9sRBpgCKXm6Wx8/s3144/IMG_0700.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3144" data-original-width="3021" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMOdBbzRkwimo3ScGWTvH6mdIUi7gKVDsxrPEUPoxD4ziLmuXH4EJmuGTy3n5FSphdAy7yhgrZs0s_ZrCEvhEecAF2BTiFaty9MGTtSaIfuZNH5x5SyzhP01tv33AqjcMtDIuJ0ZfHIsVFVZt1uV5Opn4C3M9rLy1kzq2_oPEt_-9sRBpgCKXm6Wx8/s320/IMG_0700.jpeg" width="307" /></a></div><br /><p>I also wanted to show how fun it is to mix and match to create something new. Here is the 1st/title page of our 2024 scrapbook.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAb8wJCocc68fl0Y5c38OonsSFo6KBnfu0EGASfLlkDo2RXxKR-A-xf1R3zxsu2DsfxZlB8nZW9Pndl2ZRQkQ0vtYFNjrWhdm_pEcOB73TioozNlxOk4mK6veQEcOeCFlWWGK-ky0Ei4Y1rzAMjPJfApq8K2FIKbW9t2JGjSLdJFkTd_6DMuvhchgg/s3145/IMG_0578.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3145" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAb8wJCocc68fl0Y5c38OonsSFo6KBnfu0EGASfLlkDo2RXxKR-A-xf1R3zxsu2DsfxZlB8nZW9Pndl2ZRQkQ0vtYFNjrWhdm_pEcOB73TioozNlxOk4mK6veQEcOeCFlWWGK-ky0Ei4Y1rzAMjPJfApq8K2FIKbW9t2JGjSLdJFkTd_6DMuvhchgg/s320/IMG_0578.jpeg" width="308" /></a></div><br /><p>I decided Sapphire was the best color to use with our photos, and then, when I found the Sapphire paper with the gray and white polkadots, I knew I had the start to a color scheme. The background is actually silver foil, but the light makes the top part look gold, which is actually a very cool effect!</p><p>This layout sketch is from M<i>ake It from Your Heart, Vol. 6</i>, pattern 2. At the end of last year, I had the brilliant idea to capture my top 23 photos of 2023. I then used my favorite picture collage app, LiveCollage, which is free, to combine them together to make 11 square photos. Finally, I added them to one of my Persnickety Prints boxes (which automatically makes 4" square photos).</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPfcn4AjK96G8eXDQkSTa4bZjq4wbDXKzKp_DeA3fEVG_4cyTGYwxK9L7LUK0wbJI2YzAHx1SUeA1ggnt8nh-LXUIGNFsFGCaXnZ9mL-ehVVbke3YdT9ok3UoAiJIJ0X2_lTHCLSdQmh2EoQWeTnuYKeTh3WJPhgjlfRLsDE6NhZpMo4njiqr2B2bv/s4030/IMG_0688.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2123" data-original-width="4030" height="169" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPfcn4AjK96G8eXDQkSTa4bZjq4wbDXKzKp_DeA3fEVG_4cyTGYwxK9L7LUK0wbJI2YzAHx1SUeA1ggnt8nh-LXUIGNFsFGCaXnZ9mL-ehVVbke3YdT9ok3UoAiJIJ0X2_lTHCLSdQmh2EoQWeTnuYKeTh3WJPhgjlfRLsDE6NhZpMo4njiqr2B2bv/s320/IMG_0688.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I used the retired Four Seasons- Summer collection (the same one I used <a href="https://inkyscrapper.blogspot.com/2024/02/tailgate-greetings-fall-ball-layout.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>) and a retired stamp set. I used some of my acrylic shapes stash to embellish (which is still available <a href="https://haleyd.closetomyheart.com/retail/search.aspx?searchvalue=acrylic" target="_blank">HERE</a>). I didn't journal much at all because these stories are already documented (or will be documented) in this album. I think that I will make more year-in-review layouts moving forward (and possibly occasionally going backward).</p><p>Thanks for letting me share!</p><p style="text-align: right;">{Layout 6/52}</p>Haley D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04461831597066228970noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6822715369486413462.post-88969332541224449252024-03-01T17:57:00.001-05:002024-03-01T17:57:02.872-05:00March at CTMH<p>If you haven't already heard the news, Close To My Heart announced earlier this week that they are closing their doors. Having been with them for over 25 years (24 as a Maker), I am deeply saddened by this news. On the bright side, business will go on as usual for March and April. After April, I will no longer be affiliated with CTMH, and they will officially close their doors at the end of June.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKIgL_mgNJz7WRUS_tWzvn3ogbQYpZ7sE9RIanDPT2OogH_8xP0cNmaSzkd0wGLdODOHHefL3hNSe1GhceewFMRcCzUCwNxeDySA2yYbPfCzXh_Dad9rOSwb66JaFSYjZ3U10WydUScSlBaylh3cWSccUHCL_CgdY__ptosaJqao2Z0n2hor8LXgbX/s1667/ctmh-logo-nobox-teal-ic.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="613" data-original-width="1667" height="118" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKIgL_mgNJz7WRUS_tWzvn3ogbQYpZ7sE9RIanDPT2OogH_8xP0cNmaSzkd0wGLdODOHHefL3hNSe1GhceewFMRcCzUCwNxeDySA2yYbPfCzXh_Dad9rOSwb66JaFSYjZ3U10WydUScSlBaylh3cWSccUHCL_CgdY__ptosaJqao2Z0n2hor8LXgbX/s320/ctmh-logo-nobox-teal-ic.png" width="320" /></a></div><p>While I don't have firm plans yet, I do know that I plan to continue to share my love of papercrafting with you in whatever new endeavor I choose. This set uses the Sweet Memories collection with the February stamp of the month, Say It with Flowers. Both cards use sketches from <i>Make It From Your Heart, Vol. 6.</i></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKp3o1Yp4KKCqkpmBJSclW4WGyzlrqgAVg0lMYem7ALuTQq4Pt07w8D78h3SD42fkH3ZvJ9U6fnWCFS5HvpceWC8drj2CosTMTi1PRczoG4RbPS3cNxHEfYT6XXxrkz26ZiFRtmq3jEE-CeWpZVAS0_CY5SCO0zxPNR2-bjFak6HE2LcSQJoev3zKM/s4030/IMG_0504.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3022" data-original-width="4030" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKp3o1Yp4KKCqkpmBJSclW4WGyzlrqgAVg0lMYem7ALuTQq4Pt07w8D78h3SD42fkH3ZvJ9U6fnWCFS5HvpceWC8drj2CosTMTi1PRczoG4RbPS3cNxHEfYT6XXxrkz26ZiFRtmq3jEE-CeWpZVAS0_CY5SCO0zxPNR2-bjFak6HE2LcSQJoev3zKM/s320/IMG_0504.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>This slimline card uses Mist ink on the Periwinkle circles. (You can learn more <a href="https://www.stacyjulian.com/" target="_blank">HERE</a> if you're interested.) This year some of us are undertaking "Project 24." For me, that means creating at least 24 layouts about 2024. It also means that on the 24th of each month, I’m sending my family a question, prompt, and/or challenge. Here is the January Project 24 layout, what’s new in your life?</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1zmnTSFEHAunlMOEoqBT2RBkRscsuNHRUzEkKDe0_5LHZmXYV2DNsdCha2tOEsniAAjeb49_kBraJW7MXa1Nq4TUxOXbAgrDidFIK0k6HRR69s_xrL68prdpHzHUHLe6nEpAh7KD1T5hfMdDxXo6rKGLdbkWZOzWOvpeNTgEoDoKoM_M0-kFtLr_9/s4028/IMG_0579.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2126" data-original-width="4028" height="169" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1zmnTSFEHAunlMOEoqBT2RBkRscsuNHRUzEkKDe0_5LHZmXYV2DNsdCha2tOEsniAAjeb49_kBraJW7MXa1Nq4TUxOXbAgrDidFIK0k6HRR69s_xrL68prdpHzHUHLe6nEpAh7KD1T5hfMdDxXo6rKGLdbkWZOzWOvpeNTgEoDoKoM_M0-kFtLr_9/s320/IMG_0579.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I used the current Close To My Heart <a href="https://haleyd.closetomyheart.com/retail/search.aspx?searchvalue=Let%27s+Party" target="_blank">Let’s Party collection</a> because I thought the fun colors and patterns helped celebrate the new things of 2024. I’m using a flip-flap with my picture to write my journaling underneath, because some of it is personal and won’t be shared publicly.</p><p>I used a really old sketch from <i>Reflections</i> that I think really suits our photos. I love that I was able to put selfies across the top of the layout and our "new things" across the bottom. It's not too late to do your own version of Project 24 if you'd like! Because our patterned papers have prints on both sides, it can be really fun to play with patterns. In October, we purchased a new sofa and loveseat to replace the set that has lovingly worn out. They were delivered earlier this month, and we simultaneously began emptying my late mother-in-law's house as her housemate has sold it.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgb7JXSrRm44BL6G57COIdpgZyOWx81AdNa9G2ARe54OI3BONSEYBh4ImhC6gf1g-DLh9DyMNg9m9Mv5ZEgM5J7Sp4NAxWHiwcl1h0ACJKNIEejEBholBo-MwB6LhoK83Di6PI8y3sVZAiX65JUzftR8OgHPCnToFWaz2dqnRlCKeAqlvFabQ7spvT/s4032/IMG_0273.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2111" data-original-width="4032" height="168" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgb7JXSrRm44BL6G57COIdpgZyOWx81AdNa9G2ARe54OI3BONSEYBh4ImhC6gf1g-DLh9DyMNg9m9Mv5ZEgM5J7Sp4NAxWHiwcl1h0ACJKNIEejEBholBo-MwB6LhoK83Di6PI8y3sVZAiX65JUzftR8OgHPCnToFWaz2dqnRlCKeAqlvFabQ7spvT/s320/IMG_0273.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>We are working to make room for some of her treasures into an already full home. I am really pleased with how our living space is turning out as we blend the old (but new to us) with the new. I wish that I had placed all of my elements on my page (without adhesive) and then looked at it again a day or two later. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpyMHa40Ccm5BusKYjzf86YKToAl4x40ytjrAXX6FRtYLe64F4l_wvw6eJXRKBQUzSLy4x_xVNq6yzV99HR9dFw8mvesghtP39geuVuTXgMvHLA4aLWbLmPGrRykg02wLYaHSM8ErbjlL7FKdL8g52yASIQj6R53XEzCFswKLRkQ0UX_4A-WKacrLn/s4028/IMG_9723.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2165" data-original-width="4028" height="172" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpyMHa40Ccm5BusKYjzf86YKToAl4x40ytjrAXX6FRtYLe64F4l_wvw6eJXRKBQUzSLy4x_xVNq6yzV99HR9dFw8mvesghtP39geuVuTXgMvHLA4aLWbLmPGrRykg02wLYaHSM8ErbjlL7FKdL8g52yASIQj6R53XEzCFswKLRkQ0UX_4A-WKacrLn/s320/IMG_9723.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>If I had the chance to redo this layout, I would either use Seabrook or Sage cardstock for my base pages OR I would have used a blending brush to add some color behind my photos prior to adhering them. I'm not unhappy with this layout (and not sorry for the double negative!); I just know that if I had walked away and come back, I would have added some color behind my photos rather than using the plain White Daisy cardstock base.<div><br /></div><div>I used the Evergreen collection and a retired former stamp of the month for the cute candy cane alphabet title.<br /><p>Spoiler: Naughty indeed! The journaling & hidden photo (of said naughtiness) is under the photo on the right page. </p></div>Haley D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/04461831597066228970noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6822715369486413462.post-38312258787455743192023-12-21T16:26:00.004-05:002023-12-21T16:26:49.499-05:00Skylark Birthday Card<p> Here’s a twist on the Triangle Trees Thin Cuts! I used the smallest tree to cut these pennants from Skylark and a little Toffee from Silver Bells.
