February Stamp of the Month, Springtime Borders, with Life’s a Hoot

The beautiful blues, purples, and pinks of Life's a Hoot are so pretty and soothing to me.  I had fun pairing the pretty watercolor circles paper from that collection with the umbrellas from the February stamp of the month, Springtime Borders!

I do think next time I will stamp "hello spring" on the bottom third of the panel and then stamp my umbrellas around the sentiment.  I used Glacier, Lagoon, Sapphire, Grape, Periwinkle, and Flaming, plus added a zip strip, gold glitter paper, and gold glitter gems.

This card will probably be sent to our oldest daughter, so it'll be our secret for now...

Storybook Birthday Layout

Today is "Macey Day" because she was born on the 24th of April, so it's appropriate that I share her 19th birthday layout with you today!  The year was 2020, so we were about a month or so into the COVID-19 pandemic.  That led me to host a "drive thru" birthday celebration for her!

I thought that the Storybook collection was a fun and colorful to celebrate this unusual birthday celebration.  I cut 3" pieces of cardstock and patterned paper from the collection to create a colorful rainbow of Melon, Paprika, Honey Butter, gold glitter paper, Sage, Seabrook, Seabrook shimmer trim, Mist, Mulberry,  and Mulberry glitter paper.
I used black cardstock strips and (retired) flower burst embellishments to help ground the layout.

I embellished the layout with my Thin Cut Balloon and Stitched Scalloped Brackets (for the title).

I'm really grateful to be able to preserve the time we had to have a drive-by birthday celebration but that we were still able to celebrate our girl!

February Stamp of the Month, Springtime Borders, with Storybook

Sometimes you just need to make a cheerful card even if you don't have an occasion or recipient in mind!  That is definitely the case with this card.  The February stamp of the month, Springtime Borders, is paired with the Storybook paper collection and the Storybook Scrapbooking stamp set and Thin Cuts.

To create the center panel, I stamped the rainbow border repeatedly with Mist ink onto Mist cardstock.  The band behind that panel is Mulberry cardstock and glitter paper.

To color the cute Storybook rainbow, I used the same techniques as I did on THIS CARD.  Don't you love the pop of shimmer brush over the entire images?

Who would you send this card to and why?  For now, I'm adding it to my stash, but you never know where it might end up!

Celebrating You Fun Fold Birthday Card

Today I am celebrating my amazing dad's birthday!  I had fun making a card for him with a recent fun fold card design and the Celebrating You paper/sticker collection.

I had fun decoration his card with stickers instead of stamped images.

Here's another view of the card:

I hope that my Dad has an amazing birthday, and we are looking forward to many, many more orbits around the sun!  Happy birthday, Dad, and I love you!!!

Flower Shoppe Fun Fold Card

Fancy or Fun Fold Cards add a little extra pizzaz to card projects!  This particular fun fold card doesn't have a specific name, but it will fit in a standard A2 card envelope.  I created mine with the Flower Shoppe paper collection and the Floral Blooms stamp set (without the coordinating Thin Cuts/die cuts).

I love the cheerful color palette!  On the small panel, I used Avocado and Capri inks accented with a yellow enamel dot.
I
had a lot of fun random stamping flowers around the edge of the White Daisy base card panel.
This pop up fun fold card stands up quite nicely!

I'm linking my card up to the Double Trouble challenge #132 "Hoodie-Hoo Celebration" to create a fun fold card (thanks, Alyson Mayo, for the tutorial!), adding Thing 3's challenge of flowers.  I am loving the Flower Shoppe collection!  Thanks for letting me share!

2023 Title Page

This year, I'm working really hard on getting organized and on trying to get caught up on my scrapbooking.  I am excited to create my title page for our 2023 album!

I ordered three 4x4 photos from New Year's Day that I thought would be fun to include as a title page to kick off this year.  I ended up using sketch pattern 4 from Make It From Your Heart, Vol. 5, and the Storybook collection.
I made a shaker window for the title year and filled it with loose Melon and tiny gold star sequins.  If you were wondering about the 3 photos, I used a 4"x4" flip flap to add the third photo and hidden journaling.  I don't want family and friends in the future to have to guess who everyone is or what was happening.

If you're a scrapbooker, are you organized?  All caught up?

I Love U, Valentine!

This card was inspired on one in CTMH's Core Catalog on page 57.  (Can you guess which one?)

I cut the heart out of the Storytime patterned paper/Sage cardstock panel with my new Stitched Heart Thin Cut.  I added a strip of Melon shimmer trim to the front.  I also cut the I and U from my (retired) Alphabet Thin Cuts.  I filled in the shaker window with Flower Confetti and Loose Melon Sequins.

I hope my girl loves her Valentine!  Wishing all my Inky friends a very happy Valentine's Day!

Blue Valentine Cards

Though I don’t have the blues, I have a daughter whose favorite color is blue, plus I wanted to make a Valentine card for my husband that wasn't too "froufrou."  I was channeling the Life’s a Hoot collection for these cards.

First up, our daughter’s card: I started with a Periwinkle cardstock panel that I cut with this pretty heart Thin Cut card front.  I also cut it with Sapphire and Lagoon cardstock and a pretty piece of Grape watercolor paper from the Life's a Hoot collection.  After I glued the Periwinkle panel to the card front, I added the different heart pieces until I was happy with the arrangement.  (NOTE: Take a picture so you can recreate this because you will have to add some glue!).  I stamped the (retired) sentiment in Sapphire.

Now for my husband’s: it was really easy to recreate the card but with a more masculine Sapphire cardstock heart panel as the main frame.  For his, I stamped the same sentiment with Grape ink.

Both cards are embellished with Teal (heart) dots.  (Also, thank you to CTMH Maker Cat Nowak for the inspiration for these cards!)

Wishing you and yours a very happy Valentine's Day!

National Send a Card to a Friend Day

Happy National Send a Card to a Friend Day! Who would you send this to?

I used the Storybook collection, the Storybook Scrapbooking stamp set and Thin Cuts, and a favorite sketch from Make It From Your Heart (I think Vol. 2 but could be 1).  After stamping the rainbow in black on the Thin Cut White Daisy cardstock, I colored it with five different Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers:

Burnt Orange 4, Light Yellow 3, Jade Green 1, Vintage Blue 1, and Pink Violet  2

For the finishing touches, I colored over the rainbow and clouds with clear shimmer brush and added some white acrylic stars from my stash.  My tip is that if you only buy one shimmer brush, get clear!  It adds pretty sparkle to just about anything!  I love all the other colors, but sometimes they are too intense or too messy for small images.

If you can't do it today, make time to send a card to a friend this week!  S/he will appreciate it!

Fun Fold Card with Are We There Yet?

This card was a lot of fun to make!

Here is how it unfolds:
I used the adorable Are We There Yet? paper collection, with the AWTY? Scrapbooking stamp set and coordinating Thin Cuts.

This card wasn't made with anyone in mind yet.  Who would you send it to and for what occasion?

Thinking of You Card with Are We There Yet?

Just a fun little "thinking of you card!"  I love how you could easily use scraps to make this sketch!

Happy February!  I am thinking of YOU and hope you're well!
