Fall Scrapbook Class: Smoky Mountains Layout

This layout is what my scrappers and I made at our recent fall scrapbook class. We all used the Olivia paper pack, and our sketch design is the "Illusion" layout from Magic. (Feel free to click on any of the photos to see them larger.)

We made the right page interactive: the panel that says "Smoky Mtns" opens up like a top-fold card to reveal hidden journaling. The glitter brad helps hold the flap in place as you turn the pages in our family album. (Yes, I will have to cut the page protector so that the flap is on the outside. I will reattach the brad through the page protector so that it too is on the outside and can function as a latch.)

Can you believe these photos were taken 30 years ago?!? In case you're wondering, I'm the oldest child, so on the right page, that's me at the bottom left. (I was 8, my brother was 6, and my sister was 3.)

Techniques: Rock 'n roll; paper tearing; paper pleating; fussy cuts; waterbrush coloring
All supplies from Close To My Heart: Timeless [from Olivia Workshop on the Go], Friendship Small and Large alphabets, Grown with Love, and Frame of Mind stamp sets; Olivia paper pack; Bamboo textured card stock (retired); Cocoa, Pear, Smoothie, Sunset, and Barn Red inks; glitter brads; mocha opaques

  3. I decided to use my layout for my Katie goes to college pictures. It was perfect for the colors, the fall and a new season in her life (and mine)
