June Technique Blog Hop: Let It Shimmer

Shimmer brushes are one of my favorite tools for adding subtle sparkle to any project!  This month's technique hop is focusing on what you can do with shimmer brushes.  (If you're already hopping, then you've probably arrived from Cat's blog.  It's easy to continue by clicking to go on to Alyson's blog.)
Even though you can't see the shimmer yet, the Sweet Hummingbird stamp set and Thin Cuts is the perfect set for the technique I'm sharing!
First, I stamped and then die cut this hummer.  I colored him with watercolor pencils, using two shades of red to get his ruby throat.
Next, I used my clear shimmer brush to blend my watercolor pencils and to color his wings.  Added a little extra red on his throat with my red shimmer brush.
In the next picture, hopefully you can see how I added gold shimmer brush to the flower centers.
For my hummingbird card, I used the current Mix-In papers, plus a zip strip from the Stitched Together collection.
