Paris & Co. Layout

This layout is what we made at my September scrapbook class.  I decided to (finally) get photos of one of our favorite restaurants, this time the setting for our daughter's birthday lunch a few years ago.  I'm so happy to get these pictures into our albums, especially since her sweet grandmother is no longer with us.

I used the To Market DSP and cut strips of patterned paper to create the base pages.  I used my Cricut to cut out the title from Blackberry Bliss cardstock and fussy cut two of the bouquets from the DSP to accent my page.  I used some twine from my stash and a few In Color glimmer gems to accent the layout.  (I think my Peach Pie cardstock works well as photo mats even though Pumpkin Pie is the actual color in the suite.)

Don't be afraid to use your own handwriting to journal the stories that go with your photos!  If you'd like to learn more about memory keeping, I'd love for you to join my group of ladies each month.

Sundays Are for Sketches: #18 of 22

Hopefully all of my southeastern friends are safe in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene!  All of our family and friends are fine, although one family member is without power (west of Asheville).  Since we are officially in fall, my take on this Sunday’s sketch is channeling autumn

This sketch was fun to make by cutting up a White Willow panel that I had embossed with the Changing Leaves bundle. I used Wild Wheat cardstock and a scrap from Thoughtful Journey DSP.

The die cut circle is also from the Changing Leaves bundle.  I used Wild Wheat ink to stamp the sentiment from my Labeled with Love stamp set.

If you use this sketch, please share what you create!

Splendid Autumn Gold & Bronze Card

Enamel Effects and Splendid Autumn DSP were the product focus of my September card class.  To create this card we began by dry brushing bronze and gold Enamel Effects onto the card front (and the flap of the coordinating envelope).

After letting it dry, a pretty panel of Splendid Autumn DSP matted onto Mossy Meadow cardstock became the focal point.  We embellished the card with a pair of gold mesh leaves and squeeze Enamel Effects accents onto the foliage.  Who else is ready for fall?  Is it cooling off where you are?  (Here, not so much yet.)

Today, I will be at an event in Macon, so I hope to meet some new people to share my love of papercrafting.  If you're a new follower, please say hello in the comments!

Splendid Autumn Gate-Fold Card

This card didn't turn out quite like planned because I made a mistake cutting the Splendid Autumn DSP, but I actually love it!  It's a gate-fold card that opens off center.

Since I cut the side panel too small, I ended up stamping the leaves from the Christmas Wishes kit in Mossy Meadow on both the die cut sentiment and on the left panel.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Sentimental Park bundle (which is where the hexagon die is from).  I adhered the die cut pieces of the Perennial Lavender suite and the mesh leaves on the left panel and then covered it with the hexagon piece.

I didn't take a picture of the inside, but I also stamped the leaves on opposite corners of the White Daisy panel for added interest.

My next card and scrapbooking classes will be held on October 20 at 4 PM following a FREE World Card Making Day crop beginning at 1:00.  If you're in my area, I'd love for you to join us!  (Please RSVP so that I have enough space prepared.)

Splendid Autumn Tri-Panel Card

Here is another card from my September card class featuring the Spendid Autumn DSP.  The golden panel on the card front is the back of one of the pretty autumn scenes.  We cut a large rectangle into three smaller ones and then matted them on Paprika (retired CTMH) cardstock.

I used a leaf stamp from the Christmas Wishes card kit to stamp on the background in Mossy Meadow.  The die cuts are from the Perennial Lavender bundle, and I finished off the card with Wild Wheat ribbon and gold and bronze Enamel Effects.  I'm having a lot of fun mixing and matching my growing Stampin' Up! collection!

Splendid Autumn Heart Card

Here is the first card we made at my September card class.  It's a 4"x4" card on a White Willow card base.  After embossing the 4"x4" square of Night of Navy card stock with the Birchwood 3D embossing folder, I die cut the heart window.  I tore a few small pieces off the edge to distress the card stock.

I backed the heart cutout with a piece of Splendid Autumn DSP and then tied on some twine from the Nests of Winter suite to finish this card.  (I left the inside blank until I decide who will be getting this little gem.)

Sundays Are for Sketches: #17 of 22

Happy Fall!  Sketch #17 has a small typo in the guide below: the mat should be 2.5”x3.5” and the focal panel is the smaller piece.

I used the Splendid Autumn DSP with Wild Wheat, Mossy Meadow, & White Willow card stock.  I stamped the leaf from the Changing Leaves stamp set by rolling it in Wild Wheat, Mossy Meadow, & Cajun Craze ink, with the sentiment stamped in Mossy Meadow.

I finished off this card with two gold leaves and Wild Wheat ribbon tide with twine from the Nest of Winter suite. I love mixing and matching products!

Sundays Are for Sketches: #16 of 22

For today's sketch, I decided to mix it up a bit and use the To Market paper pack.

I started with a Peach Pie cardstock base (which coordinates nicely even though Pumpkin Pie is the featured color) and then stamped my sentiment from Labeled with Love in Flirty Flamingo.  A pair of Peach Pie gems finished it off.

I’d love to see your take on this sketch!

Country Ducks Easel Card

Here's a fun easel card that is easy to make but packs a big wow!  First I die cut the pond frame, cattails, lily pads, and flowers from the Lily Pond Lane suite and assembled all the pieces.  I scored the card front at 2-1/8" and only adhered my elements to the bottom half of the card front.

On the inside, I used dimensionals to pop up the DSP strip and sentiment so that when you open the card and fold down the front panel, it will stand up.

This fun fold card is easier to make than you might think!  I'd love for you to try one and share!

Thinking of You Always Fall Card

Using card stock only, I was channeling fall vibes while making this thinking of you always card.

I began by die cutting the branches frame (from the Nests of Winter suite) in both Wild Wheat and Mossy Meadow and then layered them (turning one 180 degrees from the other).  I ended up adding some Crumb Cake ink distressing.  After stamping and die cutting the bird, I used colored pencils to color it and the berries.  I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink and then went back with Crumb Cake and a blending brush.  I really like the addition of the orange faux glass "berries."

August Paper Pumpkin Reveal

The Paper Pumpkin subscription is so fun!  This box included TWO stamp sets, a Night of Navy stampin' spot, and rose gold twine.  (I am loving the rose gold accents!  So fancy!)  I made most of the cards from my box recently, and here are the three styles.

The first card has preprinted balloons and then you stamp several more.  The die cut balloons with the rose gold foil accents are popped with Stampin' Dimensionals foam tape.

The second card will be so much fun to give for a BIG birthday!  Here it is all tied up:

And then it opens (and opens and opens) accordion-style to reveal the sentiment panel!

The final design is a yummy slice of cake with a pretty candle and fork.

Did you know that as a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can often buy refills for your kit (to make even more cards) and there are exclusive add-ons each quarter?  This quarter's add-ons include a die of the "Hooray" sentiment.  You can learn more and subscribe HERE.

Sundays Are for Sketches: #15 of 22

The next sketch in our series of sketches from p. 22 of the Stampin' Up! annual catalog is a pretty simple one.

Of course I had to add my own twist by layering the Unbounded Beauty DSP at an angle onto the Peach Pie cardstock mat.  The sentiment and flower dies are all from the Sentimental Park collection (Pretty in Pink cardstock & glimmer paper plus Peach Pie cardstock).

I know exactly which friend will be receiving this card for her birthday, since she's a big orange fan!

Splendid Autumn Fancy Fold Birthday Card

Splendid Autumn is a new collection available in the Sept.-Dec. mini catalog, and I had fun creating this card to celebrate an autumn birthday.

I used two different sheets of Splendid Autumn DSP, the lavender asters pattern for the side bar and the fancy-fold "flower," and the back of one of the tree patterns for the large rectangle.  I used Wild Wheat cardstock, faux glass gem, and rustic ribbon along with the new golden woven leaves.

Who has a fall birthday?

Happy Birthday Falling Leaves Card

Labor Day weekend  to me has always been the final weekend of summer even though I know that is not technically when summer ends and fall begins.  In honor of the fall season approaching (even though it's been in the 90s, leaves are starting to turn), we made this birthday card at my card class last month.

We die cut the leaves from a beautiful piece of Thoughtful Journey DSP with the leaf die from the July-September Paper Pumpkin add-on exclusive.   After adhering them to the Mossy Meadow cardstock, we fussy cut around the leaves to expose the right panel, a piece of Thoughtful Journey 12"x12" specialty paper.  We used the Labeled with Love bundle for the die cut tag and birthday sentiment.  Finally, we finished off the card with pearls from the same collection.

Happy fall, y'all!

Happy Birthday Arch Card

This arch card was easy to make using the pretty Thoughtful Journey DSP and a die from CTMH.  I used both sides of the DSP.

The stamp & coordinating die is from the July Paper Pumpkin kit and the add-on quarterly purchase.  I forgot to get a picture, but I stamped the flower outline in Mossy Meadow on the envelope and on the white panel inside (coloring the inside flower also).

Sundays Are for Sketches: #14 of 22

Here's the 14th installment of the 22 sketches you can find on p. 22 of the Stampin' Up! 2024-25 Catalog.

In keeping with the theme, I am continuing to use the Unbounded Beauty DSP, this time paired with Shy Shamrock ink (and the sentiment from Country Ducks).  I fussy cut the flowers to add another pretty element to this basic card.

You may remember the card that I made for my brother's birthday based on this sketch.  (You can find all the deets HERE.)

Don't you love how different two cards can look even though you're using the same "recipe" (sketch)?
