December Paper Pumpkin: Notes from the Heart Cards

The December Paper Pumpkin kit is so pretty! Of course its refills sold out quickly, and I was not able to get any.  I will be using the sentiment stamp set & Blackberry Bliss ink year round, however!

I was able to quickly make all nine cards and decided to add Mossy Meadow ink with a blending brush to the vellum die cuts on the peony card set and the blackberry card set.  For each set of three, I created a thank you card, birthday card, and a just note card.

For the fern card, I added Seasons of Elegance DSP die cut to really make this one pop. I used two ferns cut from the coordinating dies add-on for this quarter, and then I used my new Everyday Arches dies to create the pretty arch for the background. I thought it really grounded the ferns. I decided not to color the vellum on these three.

Again, I kept this set very true to the original design because they are so pretty as is.

Our younger daughter has already taken three of the thank you cards to use post holidays!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #9 of 10

It's almost time to wrap up this series with the two final cards from p. 16 of the September-December Mini Catalog.  Today I'm featuring card #9 using the Reindeer Fun collection.

After I fussy cut the three presents for the card front, I decided to add a partial present to the inside.  Make sure to decorate the inside of your cards to add an extra special touch to the paper hugs you give!

Everything in the Sept.-Dec. Mini has been moved to the "last chance" section, and some are offered at a discount, but only while supplies last.  Grab your favorites HERE!

October Paper Pumpkin Alternative: Christmas Ornament

After making the 10 pretty Christmas bird cards from the October paper, pumpkin kit, I knew I wanted to create some kind of snow globe scene with the leftover arches. Here’s what I finally came up with:

I used the stamp set from the Paper Pumpkin kit for the sentiments, branches, and cardinal.  I cut the snow globe pieces with the Snowy Wonder dies.

To give the snow globe more dimension, I added Wink of Stella on the background  and then added Pool Party and Mossy Meadow ink to the edges with a blending brush.  I used pieces of acetate for the window and lots of 3D foam tape for the shaker part.  I added mini snowflakes and some retired clear CTMH gems to the shaker portion.

Four special, dear friends will hopefully be surprised when these arrive in their mail soon.

Happy Birthday Card

This weekend was my mom‘s birthday, so I had to make her a card with some of the new goodies I’ve gotten from the January-April 2025 Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog!  (A perk of being a demonstrator is to be able to see new product in advance!)  The Wildflower Birthday suite is so pretty!  The 12"x12" DSP includes 12 sheets (2 each of 6 double-sided designs) plus two sheets of die cuts.  (The cake slice is one of the die cuts.). How pretty is the gold foil on the paper and die cuts?  I love the soft, springy colors too!

I paired this DSP with the versatile new With You in Mind photopolymer stamp set.  (You are going to love all the pretty sentiments and icons in this set of 9 stamps.)

We had a great time celebrating her this weekend.  I think she liked her card!  All of the new products will be available beginning January 7, 2025!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #8 of 10

For card #8, I pretty much copied the sketch exactly (a CASE- copy and steal exactly).  Once again I used the gorgeous Changing Leaves bundle.

I started with the 3D embossed background.  I trimmed a rectangle of Pretty Peacock from the Seasons of Elegance DSP to make the tag.  I used a sentiment from Labeled with Love stamped in Pretty Peacock and then I used a gold marker to highlight the trim of the circle die.  A few gold mesh leaves and some gold and white ribbon from my stash finished off this card.

If you try this sketch, please share your version in the comments!

Another One of a Kind Card

Here's another card I made with the One of a Kind bundle, Season of Elegance DSP, Pool Party and Pretty Peacock ink, and gold accents.

Wishing you and yours the magic and peace of the holiday season!

One of a Kind Card CASE

Here is my take on a One of a Kind bundle paired with the Nested Essential Dies.  I used Pool Party and Gray Granite.  I'm so glad Stampin' Up! is offering two-toned cardstock to give you two shades in one product.

Since my supplies were out, I decided to create a second version of the card by adding in Pretty Peacock DSP from the Seasons of Elegance DSP, Pretty Peacock ink, and gold twine.

Which do you prefer?

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog #7 of 10

 It's time for sketch #7!

Because I had limited supplies when I made this card, I used a strip of the Reindeer Fun DSP and then used the Labeled with Love dies to cut the windows in the Real Red cardstock panel.

I used a white gel pen to add "snow" to the Garden Green card front then finished off this very simple card with a white ribbon bow.

As always, I'd love to see what you make based on this sketch.  Feel free to leave a photo or a link in the comments!

DSP Fun Fold Card

Grab a piece of DSP with two coordinating sides to make this pretty card!  I started with a Reindeer Fun DSP base that measures 12" x 5 1/2" and uses a few simple scored lines to make this fun fold.

On the reindeer side, I stamped additional snowflakes in Pool Party from the One of a Kind bundle and embellished with coordinating cardstock dies.

Remember, everything in the mini catalog is only available while supplies last, and most holiday items are also available at a discount, so be sure to grab yours now!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #6 of 10

Sketches are such a fun way to jump start your creativity!  This Sunday I'm featuring card #6, below.

I immediately thought that this sketch had to be a snow globe, so I grabbed my Snowy Winter bundle and had a blast (pun intended) creating the snow globe scene with stamps and dies from the bundle.  I added a little color to the penguin's beak and feet with an orange marker.

How do you like the Wink of Stella makes the snow sparkle?

This card was so fun to make that I also used it for my November card class!  Rather than use the stamps and dies for the penguin, we fussy cut different penguins from the DSP.  We also used some of the foam snowflakes in addition to the die cuts.

As always, I'd love to see what you make based on this sketch.  Feel free to leave a photo or a link in the comments!

Sliding Gift Card Holder #2

This card was actually my prototype for my November card class, using the Reindeer Fun DSP and the Snowy Wonder stamp set.  It was made the same way as this card.

Snowy Wonder Treat Box

Here is the final project of my November card class, a treat box.  If only you could see this cute little treat box in person!  It is like a little book that has a box inside instead of pages!  (Does anyone else remember the Lifesavers candy gift "books" of rolls of Lifesavers?)  It reminds me of that but measures approximately 3"x4".  I used the Snowy Wonder DSP and fussy cut the little snow globe for the front.  The tag is from the current Paper Pumpkin dies add-on, and the Pool Party panel was cut the with Nested Dies set (a MUST HAVE in my opinion).

A mini album would be an amazing gift to put inside this box!

Snow Days Layout

The cold weather we're having makes we want to stay in and scrapbook!  Here's a throwback to a 2020 hike we attempted but couldn't complete because of ice.  The Snow Days scrapbooking workshop (layout #2 of the kit) was perfect to remember this fun day.

Holiday products don't have to be for holidays only!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #5 of 10

All of these sketches are suggestions for how to create beautiful cards.  Rather than use two each of two different shapes or icons, I used snowflakes in different colors for my take on sketch #5.

I used White Willow, Pool Party (two-tone card stock, both sides), and Peacock from the Seasons of Elegance DSP and the One of a Kind bundle (stamp sets and dies).  The striped DSP is one of the bonus exclusive papers from the Reindeer Days scrapbooking workshop.

As always, I'd love to see what you make based on this sketch.  Feel free to leave a photo or a link in the comments!

Sliding Gift Card Holder

For my November card class, our fancy fold card was this sliding gift card holder made with the Snowy Wonder bundle and Snow Scenes DSP.

The card opens from the top, and then the gift card pocket slides out of the bottom pocket of the card.  (It makes more sense in person, believe me!)

This card is a fun way to give a gift card for the holidays or any time!  Class participants received digital  instructions to make it easier to recreate.

Snow Globe Card

Happy Black Friday!  I'm really getting into the holiday season, so here come creations with the Snowy Wonder bundle (stamps and dies) and the coordinating Snowy Scenes DSP (designer series paper) in 12"x12".   This card is one of the four projects we made at my November card class.

This card began with fussy cutting the snow globe out of DSP.  You can use the coordinating dies, but I thought it was faster to cut by hand than line up and run through my machine.  The only stamping is the Let it SNOW sentiment.  (I did use a journaling pen to doodle on the banner.)  How much do you love the red and white baker's twine and the little snow foam shapes?

Simple Nests of Winter Card

Recently I hosted a card making service project for a women's group I'm involved in (Delta Kappa Gamma, key women educators), and here is one of the simple cards that we made.  This pretty piece of Nests of Winter DSP made such beautiful card fronts!  I cut 5.25" from the top and from the bottom, and then cut that strip every 4" to create the different bird panels.

Depending on the pattern, we added the sentiment banner (from the Christmas Wishes card kit) in different places to not cover up the pretty birds.  A little ribbon and gems from my stash finished off the cards.

Let the paper be the star of the card for quick & easy crafting!

My Birthday Bird Feeder Layout

My girls got me a beautiful new squirrel-proof bird feeder for my birthday earlier this year, and I have enjoyed taking pictures of all of our visitors.

Of course I had to use the Nests of Winter suite to create this layout.

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #4 of 10

Sketch #4 went so well with snowflakes!

Both cards use the Snowy Winter bundle and the bonus tag from the winter Paper Pumpkin dies.

I couldn't decide which was cuter, the snowman or the penguin, so I made a card with each.

Wink of Stella adds a fun shimmer to the snow to be extra festive!

As always, I'd love to see what you make based on this sketch.  Feel free to leave a photo or a link in the comments!

Mackinac Island Layouts

It's gotten cold here, so I'm enjoying remember some summer fun!  My husband and I took a lovely day trip to Mackinac Island this summer, and I used the Close To My Heart/Stampin' Up! Enjoy the Ride collection to preserve these memories.

The first layout was based loosely on a CTMH sketch,  but the second layout was completely my own design.  When I have a lot of photos, I tend to use a grid design to fit them all in.

The third layout followed the scrapbooking workshop directions pretty closely.

The fourth and final layout was also based on a sketch.

I love how these turned out!  Thanks for letting me share them with you!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #3 of 10

Happy Sunday!  It's time for card #3 of our series of 10 sketches from the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog.  Note that the "bean" shape in this sketch can stand for any shape you'd like.  I may have really stretched this sketch by using leaves from the Changing Leaves bundle.

I used Seasons of Elegance DSP with Wild Wheat and White Willow card stock.  I stamped the sentiment from Labeled with Love in Pretty Peacock ink.

Here's another angle to show off the gorgeous gold foil on the Seasons of Elegance DSP.
As always, I'd love to see what you make based on this sketch.  Feel free to leave a photo or a link in the comments!
