Mauvelous Lollies Virtual Retreat Project #7

Nancy A. designed and taught this fun fold for our final virtual retreat class.

I grabbed a birthday sentiment from the Arched Wishes stamp set.

You really need to see this one in person to appreciate its beauty.

We are looking forward to collaborating and doing this again!  We will definitely be including more fun folds and techniques in future virtual retreats.

Mauvelous Lollies Virtual Retreat Project #6

In addition to the projects I'm sharing with you, each of us also included a bonus "tip" video for participants.  Here is the pretty card that Darla designed and taught.

Since I didn't buy the coordinating embossing folder, I made a stencil to blend leaves onto the card panel to give it some texture.  First, I grabbed old cardstock and die cut the leaves out of the bottom to create the stencil.

Then carefully use masking or washi tape to hold the stencil to the card front.
Use a blending brush to layer in (Old Olive and a little Garden Green).
Remove the stencil.

I like how it turned out and hope you do too!

Mauvelous Lollies Virtual Retreat Project #5

April designed and taught this fun sunflower side gate fold card.

I love the subtleness of the tone-on-tone stamping of the sunflowers in Pecan Pie.

Be sure to decorate the inside of your card and the coordinating envelope!

In case you missed it (and you're counting), you can find project #4, the scrapbook layout that I designed and taught, HERE.

Mauvelous Lollies Virtual Retreat Card #2

The talented Wanda taught the next card.  I love pink (Strawberry Slush) and green (Garden Green) together!

I like her design a lot!  What do you like best about this card?

Mauvelous Lollies Virtual Retreat Card #1

Thanks to Stampin' Up!, I have met so many lovely papercrafters!  A group of seven demonstrators have banded together, calling ourselves the Mauvelous Lollies, and we worked this spring to prepare for our first ever virtual retreat, which was held June 13-14.  I think that we all had a lot of fun (so you may see a virtual Christmas retreat coming this fall...)!

The first project was a fun half-fold card designed and taught by Rita.  We all used the Impressions Abloom stamp set and dies bundle with Floral Impressions DSP.

We will definitely be making a card in a similar style in an upcoming class!  Hope you like it too!

Sentimental Park Thanks Card

Continuing my color theory card class, we switched from the new In Colors 2024-26 to the CTMH Enjoy the Ride color palette to make an analogous card featuring Rosy, Pumpkin, and Honey Butter, with the Sentimental Park suite.

How much do you love that intricate frame die?  I cut it out in Pumpkin and stamped the sentiment with Rosy.  I also added a few colorful flowers from the dies.

I love two-step stamps!  We stamped the center/"solid" flowers in Honey Butter and Rosy and then stamped the outlines over the tops in Pumpkin.  Here are all three of our cards:

If you don't currently have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, feel free to browse my website and shop with me HERE.  THANKS for your support!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother's Day!  I am so grateful to be able to spend today with my mom, my daughters, and my extended family!  Here is the card that I made for my mom:

I used the stamp set that I bought in my Stampin' Up! starter kit, Sentimental Park, and the coordinating dies.  I really like how Shy Shamrock makes Pretty in Pink POP!
The hexagon die cut is part of the Sentimental Park dies collection.  (I really love how some of the dies match the stamp set and some are "extra," like the hexagons.)  Hopefully at this angle you can see how I popped the flower cluster with 3D foam tape.

Don't you love how each of my friends took the same card design and pieces to create unique, beautiful cards?  Also, if you're following along, this second card in my recent card class hows a complimentary color scheme.

On a personal note, here’s my crew celebrating our mom and all the moms in our family.  (Yes, you’ll see this on a scrapbook layout at some point soon!)

Introducing the New In Colors Cards

For my first Stampin' Up! card class, I planned on reviewing color theory and to introduce the new 2024-26 In Colors.  The first set of cards use a monochromatic (one color) color scheme and seven 1.5" squares of cardstock and In Color 6"x6" DSP (Designer Series Papers).

This first card features Pretty in Pink.  (The sentiment stamp and Pebbled Path ink came in my first Paper Pumpkin kit, the December 2023 box.  Learn more about Paper Pumpkin HERE!)

My second card uses Shy Shamrock.  I used coordinating In Color glimmer gems on each card.

Here are my cards paired with two friends' cards, clockwise from top left: Shy Shamrock, Petunia Pop, Summer Splash, and Pretty in Pink (not yet featured, Peach Pie).

Which new color is your favorite?

Love Story Blog Hop

This month only, Close To My Heart has put together special Love Story collections in addition to the products available all year in the core catalog.  This blog hop isn't an actual hop this time, as you'll see below.

I started by making two cards with scraps and the black Love Story Scrapbooking workshop paired with the Love Story Scrapbooking stamp set and Thin Cuts in shades of Peach, Papaya, and Sage.  The first card follows the Make It From Your Heart, Vol. 4 pattern 1 and the second card uses pattern 3.

I began with a (light side) Sage cardstock base and then added the various banners.  I did add a piece of Papaya shimmer trim (not included in the collection).  I used the coordinating Thin Cuts to cut the flower in Peach (stamped in black), the spray in White Daisy, and the leaves in Sage.  If you look closely, you can see the Sage dots I stamped on the background.  The little black glitter heart is from the die cuts included in the workshop.
My second card just uses Peach cardstock, ink, and Black ink in addition to the Love Story Workshop.  The glitter die cut leaves are such a pretty embellishment!

Now, instead of hopping, enjoy our guest designers' projects featuring Love Story.  (Please click on their names to visit their blogs to leave them some love!)

More March Stamp of the Month Cards

My CTMH consultant team did such a great job on these cards featuring the March stamp of the month, Family Legacy, and the Yesterday & Today collection.

I love the variety of styles and techniques.  Let me know if you have any questions about any of them.
Do you have a favorite?

February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop: Cherishing Her

The February Close To My Heart stamp of the month, Cherishing Her, is a beautiful collection to, well, do just that.  Please hop along this monthly blog hop to get so many great ideas with this beautiful set.  (If you're already hopping then you've probably arrived from Alyson's blog.  From here, you'll visit Brenda's blog next.)
My card uses a quick sketch from Make It From Heart, Vol. 4 and the Celebrate Today paper collection.  The pretty pink heart paper was already "splattered," and I cut it from the CTMH/Cricut Artbooking cartridge.
Before assembling my card pieces, I grabbed my Mint shimmer brush and flicked it onto my card base.  It's hard to see in the picture, but it adds a pretty touch to this quick card.

The following beautiful cards were created by members of my CTMH team (including mine on the bottom right).  Don't you love the versatility of this stamp set and paper collection?

Here are a few more:
The card on the left features white embossing on vellum with marker coloring on the back.  So pretty!
The card in the middle also uses markers but check out our cool new holographic paper that changes color depending on the angle!

Finally, here's a close up of the card on the left.  Thanks again to my TEAM for these beautiful "stamples."

Thank you for hopping by!  Please leave a comment before hopping off to Brenda's blog to continue the circle of beautiful creations with the February stamp of the month.

March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop: This Happened

Welcome to the March stamp of the month blog hop with This Happened!  Are you ready for some super fun ideas and inspiration? {If you're already hopping, then you've probably arrived from Wendy's blog.  From here you'll visit Michelle's blog next.}
Since I participate in a monthly stamp of the month card swap with my team, I had the challenge of using this cool set on a card paired with the So Much Happy collection.  I ended up using a sketch from Make It From My Heart, Vol. 1 and the fun sentiment.  Notice how I made my banner tag with one of the stamp and the little heart border too.
I thought adding the Canary dots was a fun touch.

Here are all of the team cards from our swap:
Aren't they cute?  (Sorry that I can't give credit to their creators, but feel free to shout out in the comments if one of them is yours.)
Thanks for hopping by!  After leaving a comment, hop on over to Michelle's blog to continue the This Happened blog hop.

January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop: Card Captions

Happy 2019!  Close To My Heart is kicking off the year with a lovely January stamp of the month, Card Captions (and of course the brand new Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea book!).  You are going to want to use this stamp set all year long!  Hop along this blog hop to get some great ideas and inspiration.  (If you're already hopping then you've probably arrived from Darlys's blog.  From here, you'll visit Gina next.)

Each month I participate in a stamp of the month swap with my CTMH team, and this month we paired Card Captions with the new Something Fierce collection.  I used my CTMH/Cricut Artistry cartridge to cut the present for this cute little birthday card.  I stamped the sentiment in Bluebird and the dots in Carolina (on a Carolina card stock base).
Didn't my team do a lovely job with these cards?  My favorite might be the one with the cup of soup packet (bottom right).  Unfortunately, I'm not sure which consultant made which card, so please let me know if I have shared yours here!
Pretty in pink and with Thin Cuts

Fun birthday cards
Don't you love all these sentiments?
Thank you for hopping by here in the new year. I would love a comment before you head on off to Gina's blog.  Happy hopping!
