August's Card Crafternoon: Metallic Magic Card #2

Thank you for a fun Metallic Magic Crafternoon!  For cards 2-4, we used a second hot foil Butterfly Flight panel, colored by blending Darling Duckling, Coastal Cabana, & Blackberry Bliss ink and then die cut with the coordinating cutting die.

The large sentiment is from the Classic Greetings hot foil dies and the background was dry embossed with the Floral Spray embossing folder.

My September Crafternoon will feature all things fall on 9/13.

Two More Floral Spray Wedding Cards

My sister needed two wedding cards recently, so I whipped these up in about 20 minutes (total).

The first card uses a Soft Sea Foam card base and a Very Vanilla Floral Spray 3D embossing folder panel.

The second card is white on white.  Both use Wink of Stella on the flowers and coordinating ribbon.
The Wink of Stella shows well at this angle.  It's such a pretty accent.

Best wishes to both of the happy couples!

Butterfly Dies Hot Foil Card #3 of 3

The final card with the final (largest) Butterfly Flight hot foil die cut panel uses the largest one in all its glory.  (I used Flirty Flamingo, Hydrangea Hue, and Berry Burst & the coordinating masks to color the butterflies with blending brushes.)

I placed the butterfly, bow, and hot foil thank you sentiment (from the Classic Greetings hot foil dies) on a Very Vanilla panel that I dry embossed with the Floral Spray 3D embossing folder.

I can't decide which of the three cards from one panel that I like best.  Which one gets your vote?

Butterfly Dies Hot Foil Card #2 of 3

This Thinking of You card used the fourth of five butterflies die cut from one hot foil Butterfly Flight panel, blended with Flirty Flamingo, Hydrangea Hue, and Berry Burst.

I paired it with a Peaceful Pink Two-Tone cardstock Fern & Flora debossed panel (light side of the cardstock) and sprigs from the dark side, matted on Berry Burst cardstock.

Join me to try the hot foil system yourself at 3PM on 8/16 at my August Crafternoon!

Thank You Card

If you saw yesterday's scrapbook layout, then you'll know that this thank you card is for someone in the wedding party who went above and beyond to help make the day extra special for the bridesmaids (and everyone else involved).

I used the same color palette (Basic White, Cloud Clover, Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon, and Blueberry Bushel) and mostly leftover pieces from creating the scrapbook layout.  I used my damask embossing folder on the front panel and the faux dry embossing (with die cuts) on the Azure Afternoon strip.
I couldn't resist adding Wink of Stella to the flowers on the right and on the same stamped image on the coordinating envelope.

I hope the art of writing handmade thank you cards never goes out of style!

Wedding Gift Card Holder

Last week we were blessed as a family to attend the wedding of a dear friend (and our girls were bridal attendants).  I made this gift card holder because it was much easier to travel with a gift of this size.

This is a really fun fold!  I loved using the white and gold DSP from the Lovely & Beautiful DSP.
I used the Forever Florals bundle and heat embossed the sentiment in gold.
Here are a few pictures from the wedding:

Floral Spray Embossed Card

The third and final card for my recent Saturday card gathering had a bit of a WOW factor because I taught the ladies how to use an embossing folder with the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine.

We used a Soft Sea Foam cardstock base and then embossed a Petal Pink panel.

As of writing this post, this embossing folder wasn't available, but did you know that you can opt to get a notification when it (or any unavailable items that will be returning) is available?  Just click the box to be notified!

Here are some details of the cards we made.

We highlighted some of the flowers with Wink of Stella.  The shimmer is so pretty in real life!

I look forward to card making with this great group of ladies again in the fall!

Happy Father's Day!

Yes, I realize that Sunday was Father's Day, but we celebrated our dad last night.

I actually made this card before I made the Scenic Coast card (featured HERE) to try out the dropped tile card.  I cut a piece of Waterside Retreat DSP 4" x 3" and then cut that into twelve 1" tiles matted onto twelve 1" Peaceful Pine cardstock squares.

I used a blending blush and Pool Party ink to tint the vellum prior to adhering the tiles.

I love the effect of dry embossing the panel with the 3D Waves embossing folder!

Give this technique a try and let me see what you create!

Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder Bridal Shower Card

The Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder does all the heavy lifting when embossing Basic White cardstock for a 7” x 5” bridal shower card.

I tied the ribbon around the front panel with a bow and added the sentiment to finish.

I love how elegant this card looks and how simple it was to make!

Easy Gift Card Holder

My cousin's son's wife is expecting their first baby soon, so I made this gift card holder as part of their gift for their baby shower in Florida this weekend.

I created this card on a recent Facebook Live (each Thursday at 7:30 PM).
The belly band pulls off to open the card, which includes a small area for a message and a pocket to hold a gift card.

All of my customers get tutorials of my Thursday Facebook Lives (and other perks), so if you don't have a demonstrator yet, I'd love for you to shop with me.  Thank you!

Grid Squares Card Two Ways

This card uses a very simple design that is easy to recreate: twelve 1" squares of DSP mounted onto a 3 3/4" x 5" panel mounted onto the front of a card.

To add even more interest, I embossed the panel with the Fern & Flora 3D embossing folder.

Both cards use the Moonlit Flora suite plus the Scalloped Blooms stamp set and Berry Burst ink.

Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder Card

When I received my Moonlit Flora suite, I had to try out the included Fern & Flora 3D embossing folder.  After running it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine with Basic White cardstock, I rubbed Old Olive ink across the cardstock to create this card background.

I mounted the panel onto an Old Olive card base and added both Old Olive & Mossy Meadow die cuts.  I stamped the frame in Old Olive and the sentiment and butterfly in Secret Sea.  I finished the card with a few Dewdrops embellishments.

In Color Floral Spray Cards: Hydrangea Hue

No, you're not seeing double!  I had to create the same card in multiple colors.  Who can resist Hydrangea Hue?

I did fussy cut the large flower and adhere it just to give it a little more dimension (but I'm not sure it was necessary).

What other color would you use to make this card?

In Color Floral Spray Cards: Barely Blush

The Floral Spray 3D embossing folder is absolutely beautiful (in my opinion), so I created this card using Barely Blush Two-Tone cardstock (with the coordinating dots).

The congratulations stamp (in Basic Gray) is from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.

The second card uses both sides of the Barely Blue Two-Tone cardstock.  I fussy cut the large flower from the darker side and glued it onto the lighter panel.

You Deserve a Treat Card

Our daughters have both recently finished their first year of their respective graduate school programs, so I sent this to our faraway girl (our Pooh Bear) since she can't come home very often.  It was actually the very first card that I made with the new Silly Old Bear suite.

On the Very Vanilla cardstock base, I added a Golden Glow panel, embossed with the Hundred Acre Woods 3D embossing folder that I swiped in Golden Glow ink.  I die cut the focal image from the coordinating DSP and the Sweet Words and Labels dies.  The honey pot and stamped sentiment are from the Sweet Old Friends bundle.

Did you know that when products are unavailable (but not retired/discontinued), you can click a box on the product page to be notified via email when it is back in stock?  Try it HERE for the Silly Old Bear suite!

CASE the Catalog: Fern & Flora

For my virtual catalog launch last week, I CASEd (copy and selectively edit) the catalog to create this care with the Moonlit Flora suite.

I used the Fern & Flora 3D embossing folder to dry emboss the Old Olive background and then stamped a piece of 3" x 4" Basic White cardstock with the Fern & Flora stamp set in NEW Golden Glow and Old Olive inks.  I layered the two die cuts from the Fern & Flora bundle, after coloring the stamped one with Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends and NEW Golden Glow shimmer brush.
A trio of Golden Glow In Colors flat gems finished this off.

We will using this suite along with the Waterside Retreat collection at Sunday's May Crafternoon card class.  RSVP by tomorrow please to reserve your spot to help me prepare materials.  Thank you!

If you were able to catch my May Catalog Launch Facebook Live series, then you've seen this card (and if you'd like, you can watch the replay HERE on YouTube).

{You can find the Moonlit Flora suite and coordinating products HERE.}

Winnie-the-Pooh Card

When I saw Stampin' Up!'s May online exclusive Silly Old Bear suite, I knew that I had to have it, even though my personal Pooh Bear and Piglet are in their 20s!  (Flashback: When I told my Mom that I was going to decorate our firstborn's nursery in Classic Pooh, she replied with, "Of course you are, since that was your nursery.")

That firstborn, our Pooh Bear, has just finished her first year in her PhD program at the University of Illinois, 11 hours away from home!  I made this card and sent it to her because she does indeed deserve a treat.

After dry embossing the Golden Glow cardstock with the Hundred Acre Woods 3D embossing folder, I swiped Golden Glow ink over the top.  I used the coordinating dies to cut out the focal image.

Be sure to grab this collection HERE before it's gone (and even though it's temporarily out of stock, it will be back!)

Birthday Spa Layout

Recently my sister, my sister-in-law, my girls, and my niece all got together to celebrate my mom's 80th anniversary with our traditional spa day but with an incredible twist- an overnight at a local spa.  We had such a great time together!

I used the Hobby Haven DSP and a sketch from the Creative Design Team to put this layout together quickly.  All of the accents are die cuts from the DSP collection.  I did stamp the title and used a little Pecan Pie ink with a blending brush to add a little texture/interest.  If you look closely, you can see that I added more texture/interest on the Pecan Pie cardstock accents by embossing them with my Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.

I know Mom loved having all of us girls together for some uninterrupted girl time!

If you're interested in some uninterrupted crafty girl time, come to one of my classes!  I'd love to have you join my Inky community (if you're not already with another Stampin' Up! demonstrator)!

November Card Class: Branching Out #1

Each month I hold a card class and a scrapbooking class in my basement studio.  My November class featured the beautiful Branching Out Bundle (stamp set and dies) and Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP.  We make a total of four unique cards.

This card uses the dies from the set along with the 3-D birch embossing folder. The merry Christmas stamp is from October‘s paper, pumpkin, cozy Christmas. Don’t be afraid to mix and match your products!

Can you see where I colored the red berries onto the pecan pie die cuts?
