August Card Class #2: Love to You

This card uses a fun sketch to highlight the Celebratory Sips DSP and an inky ombre technique with Strawberry Slush, Berry Burst, and Blackberry Bliss inks.  I used a Nested Essential die cut and also fussy cut the "to you" sentiment, all from the Layered Thoughts stamp set.

The Timid Tiger Two-Tone cardstock panel was dry embossed with the Beautiful Butterflies hybrid embossing folder.  Every card needs an embellishment, and the 25-26 In Color Flat Gems are the perfect finishing touch.

Cherry Cobbler Notes & Totes Card

Happy National Cherry Cobbler Day!  (Who knew?)

Not only is Cherry Cobbler a sweet treat, but it is a gorgeous Stampin' Up! hue too.  I had to get inky today and make this card featuring Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana, and Lemon Lolly (as suggested in the current Color Coach)!

I added in Pool Party Two-Tone cardstock (embossed with the 3D Soft Waves embossing folder and then torn to make waves) and Crumb Cake cardstock (with "sand" stamped in Crumb Cake).

I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to create the bag's stripes and my Basic Black Stampin' Blend for the sunglasses.  Let me know if you have any questions about how I made this card.  I'm ready for some beach or lake time!

Notes & Totes Baby Shower Card

This card was so fun to make for a sweet colleague who is expecting her first baby!  I used the Floral Impressions DSP paired with the Notes & Totes bundle to create the "diaper bag" and the items in it.  The sentiment is from the retired Sentimental Park stamp set and die cut with the Nested Essentials banner die.

I used the purse scarf die to create the stuffed bunny ears, first using the "true" side of Petal Pink Two-Tone cardstock and then using the light side to die cut the purse scarf again, then fussy cuttin it to make the inside of the bunny ears.  A small oval die, two eyes created with my Black Stampin' Write Marker, and some twine for whiskers creatively made the bunny's face.

I used the spray bottle die cut and trimmed the end to make the baby bottle.  (I love how it turned out!)  The tube of sunscreen could also be diaper cream.  For the background, I used a piece of Garden Green cardstock that I dry embossed with the Damask embossing folder.  A few Strawberry Slush In Color Flat Pearls finished off the card.

I think the mom-to-be loved her card.  I know I had fun making it!  I will be featuring this bundle in my June classes.  Let me know if you'd like to gather a few friends and learn how to use this fun collection!

Mother’s Day Card

Here is the card I made for my mom for Mother’s Day featuring the birth flowers of her three children.

I began with a Basic Beige cardstock base and then added the corrugated 3D embossed Sea Foam panel on top.  After stamping each of the birth flowers, I colored them with colored pencils.  A bow finished off the sentiment quite nicely.

I'm so grateful for my mom and to get to spend time with her!

With Deepest Sympathy Card

The sympathy card that I started on a recent Facebook Live & finished afterward: Misty Moonlight & White Willow cardstock, Beautiful Butterflies embossing folder, Country Lace DSP, Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Pad, and a sentiment plus gems from my stash.

I’m Here for You Card

Here is another card we made at my card class last month.  I love teaching how to paper craft!

This card began with the Brushed Gold cards and envelopes paired with the Beautiful Butterflies bundle and hybrid embossing folder.  The butterfly was dry embossed and cut at the same time with the hybrid embossing folder and then I cut the black outline and body overlay from the dies.

To make this card extra interesting, I cut off about 3/4" of the front panel.  I adhered the black dry embossed 1" panel to the inside card base.  (I love how our our two-toned, white-core cardstock dry embosses with a bit of the white core showing through for a distressed effect.)  After cutting a rectangle from the Nested Essentials dies and stamping the sentiment, I adhered that piece to the inside card base on the black panel and then tucked the card front behind it.  Three gold adhesive-backed sparkle gems finished off the card.

You can find all of these products (and so much more!) on my website!  Thank you in advance for choosing me as your Stampin' Up! demonstrator if you don't already have one.

More Hello Butterfly Cards

This card may seem familiar because it's a similar design but a side-fold instead of a top-fold  like you can see HERE.  I used the Beautiful Butterflies bundle (stamp set and dies) plus the coordinating hybrid embossing folder.  I also used Basic White and Basic Black cardstock and black ink with the Beautiful Bokeh 6"x6" DSP mounted on a Fresh Freesia cardstock base.

I added three Itty Bitty Bokeh Mix gems to provide some sparkle to the card.  I think every project needs a bit of sparkle!

One Card, Three Ways (Hello Butterfly Cards

Each of these cards use the Beautiful Butterflies bundle (stamp set and dies) plus the coordinating hybrid embossing folder.  They also use Basic White and Basic Black cardstock and black ink.

My first card uses Daffodil Delight and cardstock plus the Bloom Impressions Sale-A-Bration DSP.  (Today is the last day of Sale-A-Bration!)

The second card uses Fresh Freesia cardstock and the Beautiful Bokeh DSP.

The third card also uses the Beautiful Bokeh DSP but this time paired with Berry Burst cardstock.

Which is your favorite?

Congrats Retirement Card

My school district's assistant superintendent is retiring, so I made this pretty card for her celebration today.

I used a variety of products, including the Everyday Arches dies, the Beautiful Butterflies bundle and hybrid embossing folder, and the Congrats from a past Paper Pumpkin set. I used Autumn Splendor DSP and Fresh Freesia card stock. Balmy Blue ink and a blending brush colored the butterfly and the congrats sentiment.  I finished off the card with some purple sequins and a white knot.

I wish her all the best in this next chapter!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #6 of 10

The 6th sketch in this series is another fun one!  I grabbed my Beautiful Butterflies hybrid embossing folder and dies and Full of Life 6"x6" DSP to make my card.

I started with a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock that I dry embossed with the 3D Soft Waves embossing folder.  Rather than cut a square, I die cut a Blueberry Bushel rectangle with my Nested Essentials dies to ground the main butterfly on the card front.  The large butterfly was embossed and cut out of Daffodil Delight card stock.  For the smaller butterfly, I had planned to use the grid side but loved the blue stripes on the back instead.  As I die cut the butterfly pieces, I also die cut the Basic Black cardstock bodies.

A few Tinsel Gems Four-Pack adhesive dots finished off the card. I really like how it turned out!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #8 of 10

For card #8, I pretty much copied the sketch exactly (a CASE- copy and steal exactly).  Once again I used the gorgeous Changing Leaves bundle.

I started with the 3D embossed background.  I trimmed a rectangle of Pretty Peacock from the Seasons of Elegance DSP to make the tag.  I used a sentiment from Labeled with Love stamped in Pretty Peacock and then I used a gold marker to highlight the trim of the circle die.  A few gold mesh leaves and some gold and white ribbon from my stash finished off this card.

If you try this sketch, please share your version in the comments!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #3 of 10

Happy Sunday!  It's time for card #3 of our series of 10 sketches from the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog.  Note that the "bean" shape in this sketch can stand for any shape you'd like.  I may have really stretched this sketch by using leaves from the Changing Leaves bundle.

I used Seasons of Elegance DSP with Wild Wheat and White Willow card stock.  I stamped the sentiment from Labeled with Love in Pretty Peacock ink.

Here's another angle to show off the gorgeous gold foil on the Seasons of Elegance DSP.
As always, I'd love to see what you make based on this sketch.  Feel free to leave a photo or a link in the comments!

Nests of Winter Card Class: Card #4 with Paper Pumpkin Nests of Christmas

The October Paper Pumpkin kit coordinates beautifully with the Nests of Winter suite!  I had to nestle the cardinal inside the pine bough frame (cut from Seasons of Elegance DSP).

I stamped the cardinal onto Real Red cardstock & then fussy cut. I added a little shading with markers.  I liked him perched on the bottom corner of the frame with extra die cut pine springs & two metallic gold mesh leaves. The birchwood 3D embossing folder added nice texture to the background.

If you aren’t yet familiar with the Paper Pumpkin subscription, learn more HERE.  You sign up by the 10th each month for the monthly kit (and can pause or cancel anytime prior to the 10th if you don’t care for the peek of that month).

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #2 of 10

Happy Sunday!  It's time for card #2 of our series of 10 sketches from the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog.

I am obsessed with the Seasons of Elegance DSP in Pretty Peacock and the Changing Leaves bundle!  I used my Labeled with Love stamp set and dies for the sentiment (stamped in Wild Wheat and Pretty Peacock).  After embellishing with a few leaves, I also used some of my gold and white ribbon from my stash.
As always, I'd love to see what you make based on this sketch.  Feel free to leave a photo or a link in the comments!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Mini Catalog Card #1 of 10

On page 16 of the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog, you can find 20 sketches to try: 10 tags and 10 cards.  For the rest of the year, I will be featuring each of the card sketches, one per Sunday (numbered here for your convenience).  While I love the tags (and may feature them), I'm afraid to commit and get in over my head.

For my first card using the first card sketch, I continued to have fun with the Changing Leaves bundle (stamp set, dies, and 3D embossing folder), this time paired with the Thoughtful Journey DSP.  (The oval die cut is from my stash.)

I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink onto the die cut oval and then layered the leaf dies on the oval and behind the sentiment.  Isn't that 3D embossed background gorgeous?

As always, I'd love to see what you make based on this sketch.  Feel free to leave a photo or a link in the comments!

Sundays Are for Sketches: #20 of 22

Here is the next installment of sketches from the 2024-25 Annual Catalog.

It's really beginning to feel like fall here!  I used the Changing Leaves bundle, Seasons of Elegance DSP in Pretty Peacock, and White Willow cardstock.  Rather than make a banner, I used die cut leaves and the mesh gold leaves tied with a gold metallic twine bow.   With the splatters of gold foil and the 3D embossed panel, I decided to add a sentiment to the inside of the card rather than the front.

Don't be afraid to change up a sketch- either the design elements, rotate the sketch, etc.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Splendid Autumn Heart Card

Here is the first card we made at my September card class.  It's a 4"x4" card on a White Willow card base.  After embossing the 4"x4" square of Night of Navy card stock with the Birchwood 3D embossing folder, I die cut the heart window.  I tore a few small pieces off the edge to distress the card stock.

I backed the heart cutout with a piece of Splendid Autumn DSP and then tied on some twine from the Nests of Winter suite to finish this card.  (I left the inside blank until I decide who will be getting this little gem.)
