Say It with Flowers & Sweet Memories Cards

Before the month ends, here is another pair of cards that we made at my recent card class. This set uses the Sweet Memories collection with the February stamp of the month, Say It with Flowers.  Both cards use sketches from Make It From Your Heart, Vol. 6.

This slimline card uses Mist ink on the Periwinkle circles.  I added a few Stickles dots to the flower centers.

For the second card, I used the "hello" sentiment from another (retired) set.  I used markers to lightly color the flowers and leaves and then used (retired) Sugar Plum shimmer brush for flower center accents.  (Sugar Plum and Mulberry are definitely in the same color family.)

Be sure to get your February stamp of the month- with or without Thin Cuts- before the month's end!

Tailgate Greetings Fall Ball Layout

Last year, my husband, my Dad, a friend, and my nephew all worked on getting my Dad's 1937 Chevy truck running again.  My newphew drove it to Fall Ball in October.

I used the (retired) Four Seasons- Summer collection with the current Tailgate Greetings stamp set (and a retired alphabet set) to create this layout of pictures of the truck (and my handsome nephew).

Here's a close up of the truck.  Not only did I use the coordinating Thin Cut on the light side of Bluebird cardstock, but I fussy cut pieces of the dark side Bluebird to add dimension to the stamped image.  I used a silver marker, Liquid Glass, and red Stickles to embellish.

The striped Lagoon paper is from the recently brought back but retired Skylark collection.

Thanks for letting me share this fun layout with you!  I am so please with how it turned out.

Project 24: 01, What’s New?

Obviously, I am a scrapbooker, and I am currently really digging into my photos and stories thanks to being part of Stacy Julian’s Live Your Story membership group.  (You can learn more HERE if you're interested.)  This year some of us are undertaking "Project 24."  For me, that means creating at least 24 layouts about 2024.  It also means that on the 24th of each month, I’m sending my family a question, prompt, and/or challenge.  Here is the January Project 24 layout, what’s new in your life?

I used the current Close To My Heart Let’s Party collection because I thought the fun colors and patterns helped celebrate the new things of 2024.  I’m using a flip-flap with my picture to write my journaling underneath, because some of it is personal and won’t be shared publicly.

I used a really old sketch from Reflections that I think really suits our photos.  I love that I was able to put selfies across the top of the layout and our "new things" across the bottom.  It's not too late to do your own version of Project 24 if you'd like!  I'm posting challenges on my Facebook page on the 24th of each month if you'd like to join us.

Birthday Layout with Say It with Flowers & Sweet Memories

Since yesterday was my Dad's birthday, I thought I would share my birthday layout from last year (that just got made recently).

I used the Sweet Memories collection and a sketch from Make It From the Heart, Vol. 5.  I love starting my projects with a sketch!

If you look closely, you can see how I used the bricks from Stencil Pack 1 and blended both Mulberry and a little Mist to make some bricks on the background.

I enjoyed embellishing the layout with the February stamp of the month, Say It with Flowers, hearts that I Thin Cut, and the Sweet Memories die cut embellishments.  I also used strips of Mulberry glitter paper.

It's hard to believe I'll have another birthday in about a month's time!

79 Is Just a Number Card

At last month’s card class, I made this card in advance for my dad’s birthday using the Let's Party Scrapbooking stamp set & Thin Cuts plus the cute "Polaroid" Thin Cut.

Because I had to mail it to him, I chose not to make a shaker card in the window, but that would be such a fun addition!

Happy birthday, Dad!!!

Tailgate Greetings Hello Card

This card was so fun to make!  I used the Tailgate Greetings stamp set and Thin Cuts paired with the Sweet Memories collection for an old fashion, masculine twist.

I cut the truck out of Mist cardstock and then embellished with gray and red markers, white gel pen, and Mist shimmer brush.  (It's hard to see the shimmer, but it's a nice subtle touch.)

Since I didn't have a specific person or event in mind, I decided that "Hello" and "UR #1" would be nice.  I stamped the sentiment in Sage and the tire track stripes in Mink.

Usually I don't think a card is complete without embellishments, but I like this one without any extra bling or bulk.

Say It with Flowers Thinking of You Cards

At today's card class, we made one of these thinking of you cards with the February stamp of the month, Say It with Flowers.  I used Jade and Royal inks and colored pencils for both of them.

I love the look of nested rectangles for a quick, easy, and pretty card.  For the first one, I stamped the corners of the card with the flower cluster and the small single flower.  A few green dots finished off the card.

For the second card, I stamped the flower bunch and then colored it in with more color than the first card.

I added gold Stickles to the flower centers and a few gold glitter gems.

Sending Love Cards

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Both cards use the February stamp of the month, Say It with Flowers, the Sweet Memories paper, Mulberry glitter paper, and (retired) hearts Thin Cuts.

They didn’t turn out quite like I had envisioned, but I still like them.

Hope your day is full of love!

Another Happy Birthday Card

This card came together quickly using the Let's Party collection!  Because our patterned papers have prints on both sides, it can be really fun to play with patterns.  I like how using the banner paper with its pink background create a more feminine card.

The black strip across the card front is black shimmer trim which adds a fun touch of sparkle in real life.  The sentiments are from the Let's Party Scrapbooking stamp set & Thin Cuts stamped in Ballerine and Black.

Happy Birthday Party Hats Card

This cute card came together quickly with the Let’s Party Scrapbooking stamp set & Thin Cuts!

After stamping the party hat and the “happy” banner in Bluebird, I added the Sundance and Candy Apple stamped Thin Cut party hats and stamped the birthday sentiment in black directly on the card panel. You cannot go wrong with nested rectangles on a card front!
