Another Strips Sketch Card

Someone I know turns 50 tomorrow, and we are showering her with some love today!  I made this card for her on my Thursday Live last week (8/6/26) using the Artisan Sketched Garden DSP.  (You can watch the replay on YouTube HERE if you're interested in learning how to make this card.)

Be sure to decorate the insides of your cards!

You can catch me on my Facebook Live each Thursday at 7:30 PM!  Hope to see you there!

Thursday's Live: Strips Card Sketch

Last Thursday's Facebook Live (each Thursday at 7:30 PM) card creation uses scraps to create a pretty card (or two)!  (You can also find YouTube instructions HERE.)

My prototype uses the Valley in Bloom and Artisan Sketched Garden DSP (both on sale 15% off this month, while supplies last).  I also used my Scalloped Blooms bundle, Garden Green ink & Stampin' Blend, plus Pool Party Stampin' Blend.

If you're not yet decorating the insides of your cards, give it a try with scraps of paper or stamped images!  Tomorrow I'll post the card that I made live.

Get inky, friends!  Catch me tonight for my next Facebook Live at 7:30 PM!

Hot Foil Silly Old Bear Card

Did you know that you can hot foil your regular dies?  I used three of the Sweet Words & Labels frame dies to make this Silly Old Bear card.

I began by placing the smaller frame die (and the wood grain die for another project) on my hot foil machine following the instructions (except using a regular die cutting dies rather than specific hot foil dies).
They foiled beautifully (if I do say so myself)!
The die cuts are very thin, so you get very thin foiling.

I'm really looking forward to getting my reverse hot foil plate so that I can use the leftover pieces on other projects!

Being able to hot foil "regular" die cutting dies is going to add a lot more options to the hot foiling system!  Let me know if you'd like to learn more (and RSVP for my hot foiling Metallic Magic class this Sunday, 8/16 at 3 PM, by Friday).

Finally, I was inspired to play along with this week's Global Design Project challenge #GDP559 theme: Frames.

Two More Floral Spray Wedding Cards

My sister needed two wedding cards recently, so I whipped these up in about 20 minutes (total).

The first card uses a Soft Sea Foam card base and a Very Vanilla Floral Spray 3D embossing folder panel.

The second card is white on white.  Both use Wink of Stella on the flowers and coordinating ribbon.
The Wink of Stella shows well at this angle.  It's such a pretty accent.

Best wishes to both of the happy couples!

Butterfly Dies Hot Foil Card #3 of 3

The final card with the final (largest) Butterfly Flight hot foil die cut panel uses the largest one in all its glory.  (I used Flirty Flamingo, Hydrangea Hue, and Berry Burst & the coordinating masks to color the butterflies with blending brushes.)

I placed the butterfly, bow, and hot foil thank you sentiment (from the Classic Greetings hot foil dies) on a Very Vanilla panel that I dry embossed with the Floral Spray 3D embossing folder.

I can't decide which of the three cards from one panel that I like best.  Which one gets your vote?

Washi Tape Card

Last Thursday's Facebook Live (each Thursday at 7:30 PM) card creation was a quick and easy card design that used the new Summer Happiness washi tape instead of DSP (Designer Series Paper).  (You can also find YouTube instructions HERE.)

Butterfly Dies Hot Foil Card #2 of 3

This Thinking of You card used the fourth of five butterflies die cut from one hot foil Butterfly Flight panel, blended with Flirty Flamingo, Hydrangea Hue, and Berry Burst.

I paired it with a Peaceful Pink Two-Tone cardstock Fern & Flora debossed panel (light side of the cardstock) and sprigs from the dark side, matted on Berry Burst cardstock.

Join me to try the hot foil system yourself at 3PM on 8/16 at my August Crafternoon!

Turtle-y Cute Birthday Card

Our daughter needed a birthday card for a friend, so I helped her create this Turtle-y Cute card with the recently retired stamp set.

It's been so nice having her home for the summer!  I'm sad she had to go back to grad school!  Modern technology makes it easy to stay in touch, fortunately.

Be sure to shop those last chance items for BIG savings!

Butterfly Dies Hot Foil Card #1 of 3

The hot foil system is a lot of fun to use!  I used Very Vanilla cardstock and my Butterfly Flight hot foil dies to create two identical panels.

You can see the card that I made on my Facebook Live last week HERE.  I die cut the second panel after coloring it with the coordinating masks in Flirty Flamingo, Hydrangea Hue, and Berry Burst with blending brushes.

This is the first card that I made using the die cut butterflies, Peaceful Pine die cut "sprigs" from the set, Hydrangea Hue cardstock, and the happy birthday hot foil sentiment (blended with the same inks).

I really love how it turned out.  Using the hot foil system is pretty easy!

Thursday Live: Accordion Fun Fold Card

Each Thursday, I go live on Facebook Live at 7:30 PM, except that last Thursday was my husband's birthday so I went live on Friday.  Here is the accordion fun fold card that I made.  (You can also find YouTube instructions HERE.)

I paired the Valley in Bloom DSP with my Cute As a Bug bundle (still available while supplies last).
A few Stampin' Blends and some ink blending added pops of color.
Don't forget some Wink of Stella on the lily of the valley flowers and the bee's wings!

Get inky, friends!  Catch me tonight for my next Facebook Live at 7:30 PM!

Silly Old Bear Easel Card

The fourth and final card of July's Card Crafternoon was a Silly Old Bear easel card.

Here is the front opened up to make the easel.  Won't this be cute sitting on someone's desk?

I absolutely love all of the Silly Old Bear suite elements on this card from Pooh Bear to the honey pots to the bees!

Save the date for August's Crafternoon on 8/16: Metallic Magic!

Butterfly Flight Masks Card

If you like the look of the Butterfly Flight hot foil dies but aren't ready to invest in the system, consider purchasing the coordinating masks.  (Check out the card that I made with the hot foil system HERE.)  I used them with Flirty Flamingo, Hydrangea Hue, Berry Burst, and Basic Black inks to create this card.

What do you think?

Thursday Live: Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Card

Last Thursday's Facebook Live (each Thursday at 7:30 PM) card creation was an introduction to the new hot foil system!  (You can also find YouTube instructions HERE.)  I prepared for the Live by hot foiling two of the Butterfly Flight hot foil dies with gold foil on Very Vanilla Two-Tone cardstock.  (Two-Tone cardstock is recommended because it has a smoother texture than the milled cardstock with the solid color core.)

I used the coordinating masks to color the butterflies with Flirty Flamingo, Hydrangea Hue, and Berry Burst inks with blending brushes.

I matted this panel on a piece of Berry Burst cardstock with some pretty gold mesh ribbon as an accent.  The message will go on the inside.

Come back for more hot foil fun!  I will post the second card that I made, plus two more from all of the die cuts.

Get inky, friends!  Catch me tonight for my next Facebook Live at 7:30 PM!

Velvet Meadow Fancy Fold Card

My friend Nancy Dodge at YB Stamping create this fun fold (watch HERE), and I couldn't resist playing along for my July Card Crafternoon with the flocked Velvet Meadow DSP.

We used the Balloon Festoon stamp set & Berry Burst ink for the sentiment banner.  Now wait for it...
What do you think?  I kept the card simple to let the folds and gorgeous DSP do all the hard work.
This card does use a lot of paper, but I think the effect is pretty stunning.

Thanks, Nancy, for the idea and instructions!

Balloon Festoon Fun Fold Birthday Card

This Balloon Festoon was a fun fold card indeed!

I die cut the two balloons from Flirty Flamingo cardstock and Barely Blush In Color Painted Patterns DSP then stamped the background images with Flirty Flamingo.
The card base is Strawberry Slush as is the Happy Birthday sentiment.
This will be a fun design to try to recreate with large dies.  I can't wait to see what you make!

Happy Birthday Basket Card

One of the things that I love most about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is the wonderful people I meet.  Recently, I celebrated my team member Lisa's birthday with this card.

In addition to being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator herself, she makes the most beautiful baskets (and teaches basket making)!  I combined my Easter Basket dies with the Balloon Festoon bundle and Valley in Bloom DSP to make this card for her.  I tucked flowers die cut with the Forever Floral dies on Beautiful Ordinary Life (Pool Party) DSP and then colored the leaves with a Garden Green marker.

A quick sentiment on the inside and strip of DSP finished it off!  Normally I don't glue paper to my envelopes, but I was planning on hand delivering so she got a balloon instead of a postage stamp!  The rest of the floral spray went on the envelope flap.

Happy {belated} birthday, Lisa!

A Quick & Easy Thinking of You Card

Sometimes it's fun to spend a lot of time on a project, and other times it's fun to create something quickly!

This card came together quickly on last Thursday's Facebook Live (each Thursday at 7:30 PM) with six rectangles (four are Beautiful Ordinary Life DSP), three Array of Dots embellishments, two stamps (Extraordinary Life and Scalloped Blooms stamp set), and one die cut (Extraordinary Life).

Thank You Card

If you saw yesterday's scrapbook layout, then you'll know that this thank you card is for someone in the wedding party who went above and beyond to help make the day extra special for the bridesmaids (and everyone else involved).

I used the same color palette (Basic White, Cloud Clover, Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon, and Blueberry Bushel) and mostly leftover pieces from creating the scrapbook layout.  I used my damask embossing folder on the front panel and the faux dry embossing (with die cuts) on the Azure Afternoon strip.
I couldn't resist adding Wink of Stella to the flowers on the right and on the same stamped image on the coordinating envelope.

I hope the art of writing handmade thank you cards never goes out of style!
