Another Strips Sketch Card

Someone I know turns 50 tomorrow, and we are showering her with some love today!  I made this card for her on my Thursday Live last week (8/6/26) using the Artisan Sketched Garden DSP.  (You can watch the replay on YouTube HERE if you're interested in learning how to make this card.)

Be sure to decorate the insides of your cards!

You can catch me on my Facebook Live each Thursday at 7:30 PM!  Hope to see you there!

Thursday's Live: Strips Card Sketch

Last Thursday's Facebook Live (each Thursday at 7:30 PM) card creation uses scraps to create a pretty card (or two)!  (You can also find YouTube instructions HERE.)

My prototype uses the Valley in Bloom and Artisan Sketched Garden DSP (both on sale 15% off this month, while supplies last).  I also used my Scalloped Blooms bundle, Garden Green ink & Stampin' Blend, plus Pool Party Stampin' Blend.

If you're not yet decorating the insides of your cards, give it a try with scraps of paper or stamped images!  Tomorrow I'll post the card that I made live.

Get inky, friends!  Catch me tonight for my next Facebook Live at 7:30 PM!

Old + New = Birthday Cards

Last Saturday, I had the privilege of leading a card class to a lovely group of ladies!  This was my second event with them, and setting up card making stations was the way to go.  One station had these options:

The card uses a favorite (old) Close To My Heart sketch, retired (old) Floral Impressions DSP, and (new) Scalloped Blooms bundle (stamp set & dies).

I have to give a huge shout out to my amazing helpers, Lynn and Ann!

Which card do you prefer?

Card Sketch + Cats

On last Thursday's Facebook Live (each Thursday at 7:30 PM), I created a sketch using strips of cardstock and a die cut of the cats from the Cutest Crew bundle.  (Not a cat fan?  There are dogs and birds in this adorable bundle, too!)

The sketch uses two 4" x 3/4" strips, two 4" x 1" strips (but the second one was replaced with the die cut cats), and one 4" x 1 1/4" strip.  I used Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, and Black Two-Tone cardstock along with Stampin' Blends.

My three kitties are featured in this card.
If you give this sketch a try, I'd love to see what you make!

Scalloped Blooms Birthday Card

The Scalloped Blooms birthday card was the last card we made at my June Card Crafternoon.  We used the Scalloped Blooms bundle (stamp set & dies) along with the Bloom Boutique DSP.  (I grabbed my Fern & Flora stamp set for that pretty little moth.)

Can you see the In Color butterfly embellishments?  I love the gold foil accents of the Bloom Boutique DSP!  This angle also lets you see how pretty the Pearlized In-Color speciality paper is!

I think this is a cool card design.  Hope you like it too!

Shout out to Lisa on her birthday today!  As soon as I am able to give you your card, I will post it here.

Also, thanks to Stamp with Peggy for this cool card sketch/design.

You're invited to my next Card Crafternoon on 7/12 for a birthday bash!

April Crafternoon Card Class Card #1

This month's card Crafternoon was this past Sunday, and my ladies and I had a blast creating four cards!  I'm grateful for the 2026 Virtual Card Making Retreat and all of the generous Stampin' Up! demonstrators who freely share ideas.  (You can find the original card HERE if you're interested.)

This first card uses the Garden Poetry DSP & Garden Textures specialty paper along with the 2026 Virtual Card Making Retreat stamp set and Forever Florals bundle.  We used Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Freesia, Shy Shamrock, Lemon Lolly, and Black ink along with Bubble Bath and Basic White cardstock.

Instead of using rectangles, consider angling one edge of your DSP for a fun effect!

Masculine Birthday Card

Recently I needed a masculine birthday card for a co-worker, so I decided to use a card sketch that I found and make this card on my weekly Lives on my Facebook page (Thursdays at 7:30 PM Eastern time).

I had planned to use the front and back of this handsome Autumn Wishes 6"x6" DSP but decided to only show the front.  I used the January Product of the Month, Fabulous Sayings stamp set, and Basic Beige leaves die cut from Nature's Symphony dies (and leftovers from my February card class).

Did you know that my customers have an exclusive VIP Facebook Group where I post instruction sheets after each Thursday Live?  Anyone can watch and craft along with the Thursday Lives at 7:30 PM.

To a Great Guy Card

My great guy deserves a Valentine, so I made this card for him today using the #GDP534 sketch as my inspiration.

I started with my stack of Thoughtful Journey 6"x6" DSP and selected this wintry scene.  (Hurry!  Low inventory of this DSP so it's definitely only available while supplies last!) I grabbed my Nature's Walk bundle (stamp set and dies), Misty Moonlight and Basic White cardstock, plus Misty Moonlight and Blackberry Bliss ink.  Those beautiful watercolor leaves are just the gorgeous DSP!  I used Misty Moonlight & Silver ribbon behind my leaves cluster but you really couldn't see it so I added a quick little knot on top.

I crossed out the "like" in the sentiment and wrote in LOVE to fit today- and honestly every day!  My guy isn't a hearts and flowers kind of guy so hopefully he will love this card as much as I loved making it for him.

The Everyday Arches dies made this card sketch come together quickly.

Birthday Spa Layout

Recently my sister, my sister-in-law, my girls, and my niece all got together to celebrate my mom's 80th anniversary with our traditional spa day but with an incredible twist- an overnight at a local spa.  We had such a great time together!

I used the Hobby Haven DSP and a sketch from the Creative Design Team to put this layout together quickly.  All of the accents are die cuts from the DSP collection.  I did stamp the title and used a little Pecan Pie ink with a blending brush to add a little texture/interest.  If you look closely, you can see that I added more texture/interest on the Pecan Pie cardstock accents by embossing them with my Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.

I know Mom loved having all of us girls together for some uninterrupted girl time!

If you're interested in some uninterrupted crafty girl time, come to one of my classes!  I'd love to have you join my Inky community (if you're not already with another Stampin' Up! demonstrator)!

One Card, Two Ways

These cards were made based on a sketch idea in the Sept.-Dec. Mini Catalog.  I've "cleverly" called it the five-square card.

The first card was made with the Peaceful Garden suite and the second from Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP.

Wishing you a happy holiday season!

Oh Christmas Tree Layout

Usually I don’t make layouts before I have my photos, but I know that I will take several portrait (vertical) photos of our Christmas tree this year. I enjoyed making this layout at my November open studio crop with the Branching Out dies, Elegant Pines Snowflake DSP, and two retired stamp sets.

I love all the shades of green in this DSP (Designer Series Paper).  It’s really nice to be “ahead” with this layout (while I ignore all the other projects I am behind on).

Autumn Toile Interlocking Panel Birthday Card

My firstborn nephew turned 19 last weekend, and I made this fun interlocking panel birthday card for him with the Autumn Toile DSP.

It was also the model for a Halloween card we made at my October card class, so my customers will receive printed instructions to make this card.

I think it turned out beautifully!

Happy birthday, Alex!

Six Christmas Cards from One Sheet

Here is another set of one-sheet-wonder cards that I made using the same template as before (see those cards HERE) but with a definite Christmas twist this time.

I used a sheet of (retired) Reindeer Fun DSP paired with Early Espresso, Real Red, and Garden Green card bases.  I added in a few pieces other DSP from the same collection and a tree from the leftover die cuts.  I used a retired Paper Pumpkin stamp set for my sentiments and some red pearl embellishments from my stash.  These came together quickly and easily.

Again, if you're a customer of mine and would like the template, just let me know (or become a new customer and let me know)!

Thinking of You (Artisan Design Team CASE) Card

One thing I often hear customer say is that they are not creative. (That's one of the reasons I fell in love with stamping!)  When I am not feeling creative, I love to browse my idea books or Stampin’ Up!’s Instagram or Facebook. When I find something I like, I CASE it (copy and share exactly) only with my own twist.  This card was inspired by one of our Artisan Design Team members.

I made this card on one of my Facebook Thursday night lives (HERE at 7:30 each Thursday).

I used Autumn Metallics specialty DSP with the Peaceful Garden embossing folder; Autumn Toile DSP; Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, & Pecan Pie cardstock; Cajun Craze ink; and Streaked Dots.

Hey, Pumpkin Card

Did you know that I host a live video on my Inky Scrapper Facebook page each Thursday evening at 7:30?  Recently, I made this card using the Autumn Toile DSP and the September Paper Pumpkin stamp set.  (Learn more about Paper Pumpkin subscription box HERE!)

I used colored pencils to color the pumpkins and to create the faux stitching.  I based this card on a sketch idea in the September-December Mini Catalog.  I love how a sketch inspires me to be creative.

I will be featuring these products in my October card and scrapbook class on 10/19.  If you can't attend in person, you can request a kit.  Email me for more info!

Flight Solo Layout

A few months ago, my sixteen-year-old nephew successfully soloed, and I was thrilled to be invited to be there!  We are so excited to welcome a third-generation pilot into the family!  Of course I had to use the Take to the Sky DSP to create a layout of this very special day (and I do have his permission to post it).

I cut several arches out of the DSP with the Everyday Arches dies and stamped a few tiny airplanes on the layout from the coordinating stamp set.  I cut the large circle on my Cricut and die cut the title with my Alphabet a la Mode dies with Misty Moonlight cardstock.

The biplane accent on the right page was actually on a card that I received in a swap at OnStage last month, so I carefully cut it off to use on this layout since I didn't get this stamp set myself.

The gray gems were in my stash and added just enough sparkle to keep this layout interesting without being too girly.  Way to go, Will!  We are so proud of you!  Thanks for letting me be part of this special day!

NOTE: The Take to the Sky suite is in the Last Chance section at a discount so grab yours today before all of the elements are gone!

Thinking of You In Colors Card

This card design is a favorite of mine, and I had fun making these as part of my swaps for Stampin' Up!'s recent annual convention, OnStage, in Raleigh.  I used the Unbounded Beauty DSP with Peach Pie, Shy Shamrock, and Petunia Pop stampin' pads.  I used the Nested Essentials dies for the focal sentiment and fussy cut the flower and leaves.  A few In Color shimmer gems finished off the card.

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #10 of 10

It's time for the final card sketch of this series!

I had fun using the Everyday Arches instead of the featured ovals. Take a sketch and make it your own!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #9 of 10

Who is ready for spring?  Today is the first day of Daylight Savings Time (although I honestly wish we could just decide on one time for the entire year), but at least that means that spring is approaching!  Are you ready for card sketch #9?

Although the image seems to show thread or ribbon behind the focal image, I think that the Sentimental Park die cut is a great substitute without having any threads.
I used Floral Delights DSP paired with the Sentimental Park stamp set and dies with Old Olive Stampin' Pad.  I love all the details of the dies (cut with Basic White, Olive Olive, and Daffodil Delight cardstock).  These products make it easy to make pretty cards.  I hope that you like it too!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #8 of 10

Are you ready to try the 8th card sketch from the January-April 2025 Mini Catalog?

I used the Wildflower Birthday DSP which includes some beautiful die cuts as part of the collection.

Can you see how I scored the Soft Sea Foam cardstock to give it some interest and texture?  I added a few gold adhesive-backed sparkle gems to compliment the gold foil accents of the DSP/die cuts (though they didn't photograph well).

I can't wait to see what you make with this sketch!
