Top Ten #1 & #9: Stamp Sets and Magic

So many stamp sets, so little time! You are sure to find a favorite in the new Autumn/Winter Idea Book, and CTMH's My Acrylix stamps are clearly amazing!

Here's a layout I made using CTMH's latest and greatest how-to guide, Magic. This sketch is called "Parlor Trick." I did not make any interactive features for this layout but the book and its DVD show you how.

This layout uses two new favorite stamp sets, Old World Alphabet and Royal Birth. I will show some of the details in upcoming posts, so watch for them! Can you believe that this "Sleeping Beauty" is now 12 years old?

The large stamped jewels are part of the Royal Birth stamp set. I inked them up in either Baby Pink or Heavenly Blue ink, stamped, and then sprinkled on clear embossing powder. The powder stuck well to the wet ink, and I heat set it from BEHIND the image so that the powder didn't blow away. The sceptre and crown were both gold embossed (although I did paper piece the scepter to give it a pink gem on the end).

Techniques: heat embossing and paper piecing

All supplies from Close To My Heart: Top Stitch paper pack; Old World Alphabet and Royal Birth stamp sets; Heavenly Blue, Baby Pink, and Chocolate ink; Chocolate marker; Heavenly Blue ribbon rounds; Opaques Pearls; Blue & Green and Red & Pink Sparkles collections
