Craft with Heart Scrapbooking Subscription: September 2021

If you're a scrapbooker, be sure to check out the Craft with Heart scrapbooking subscription!  You will easily create gorgeous layouts with this subscription box!

I thought that the second of the two September layouts were a great background for my pictures of visiting the Close To My Heart corporate office this summer.

I love how you can personalize these beautiful layouts to make them your own!  The suggested title was These Are the Best Days, but that didn't really fit the pictures I chose.

Hopefully you can see the dimension of using foam tape to pop some of the die cut circle pieces.

Visiting corporate was definitely a best day!  If you'd like to learn more about the Craft with Heart scrapbooking subscription, click HERE.

For All Occasions Masculine Birthday Card

Yesterday, we celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday, so I quickly made him this card.

I grabbed my Pumpkin Spice collection and decided that this fall scene would be the perfect backdrop.  (This band measures 2.5"x5.5".)  I mounted that piece onto a 4.25"x5.5" of Harbour cardstock.  I cut a piece of gold shimmer trim in half (or almost in half) and adhered the larger piece to the bottom of the band and the skinnier piece to the top.  I used my NEW For Every Occasion stamp set to stamp happy in Paprika on Mink and birthday in Harbour on Shortbread.  How cute is that wooden leaf sticker?

Remember that the Pumpkin Spice collection is only available September-October 2021, so be sure to get yours soon!

2021-22 Core Catalog New Product Blog Hop

September marks the beginning of the Close To My Heart year with a brand new, incredible Core Catalog!  Our blog hop group is featuring our favorites from the Core Catalog, which will be available through August 2022.  Grab your wish list and hop along to see so many amazing new products and ideas. (If you're already hopping, you've probably arrived from amazingly creative Katy's blog.  From here, you'll visit my Heart2Heart Challenges teammate Lauren's blog next.)

I finally decided to use the pretty As You Grow paper pack, sticker sheet, coordinating cardstock, and Picture My Life cards to scrapbook my aunt's memorial service this past weekend.  You'll notice that I haven't journaled (yet) because my thoughts are too private for the world wide web.  (Thanks for understanding.)  I do want to stress how important journaling is to document the stories and people behind your photos.  No one wants to inherit "strangers in a box."

I embellished both pages with NEW Papaya shimmer trim.  Though this collection has a baby motif, I thought that the "love you forever" sums up my love for my aunt and my extended family.  My aunt loved to garden, so the botanical theme is perfect to celebrate her life.

Since it was hard to get 23 of us to look at the camera (especially since two are under four years old), I wanted to use two of the many family photos.  Flip flaps of course came to my rescue, and on the 4x6" Picture My Life journaling card, I will document who exactly was in attendance- and who had to attend virtually unfortunately due to COVID-19.  Also note that the actual service bulletin can be pulled out of the top-loading page protector.  The poem is adhered at the middle and bottom to provide a pocket to pull out the bulletin.

Thanks for letting me show you a little bit of the pretty As You Grow collection.  If you only saw babies, I hope I've inspired you to think again!  Please leave a comment before hopping to Lauren's blog next.

H2H Challenges: Creative with Cardstock

For National Stamping Month (AKA the month of September), Heart2Heart Challenges wants you to get creative with cardstock!

I just had to play around with the color of the year, Wild Berry, and using it with Black, Pewter, and White Daisy cardstock (plus some Wild Berry glitter paper).  I tried my hand at a herringbone technique for this card.

I used one of my new favorite stamp sets, For All Occasions.  This set features 26 stamps for just about any sentiment you could need!

Next time, I will probably stamp the "just because" in first generation or second generation only, not both.  I also wonder if I should have mated my Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts border with a slightly larger piece of Black cardstock to make it pop even more.  Also, next time, I may vary the width of my strips (these all started as 0.5"x6" strips).  Take note of how I layered a Black Burst onto a Wild Berry flower sequin!

Be sure to check out all of the H2H Designers' inspiration, and join us this month to get creative with cardstock!

September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop: Grateful for This Life

September means a new stamp of the month, new two-month idea book, and a new core catalog!  It is such an exciting time for Close To My Heart!  You're going to enjoy all kinds of great ideas with the beautiful September stamp of the month, Grateful for This Life, along the stamp of the month blog hop.  (If you're already hopping, then you've probably arrived from Katy's blog.  From here, you'll visit Lauren's blog next.)

I made two cards using two brand new colors, Papaya and our color of the year, Wild Berry!  Before I share the details, be sure to check out all of the amazing sentiments in the September stamp of the month, Grateful for This Life.

My first card pairs uses Wild Berry to make a fun shaker card!  I made it in stages to show how cute each version can be.  I began by stamping Grateful with Wild Berry and the other sentiments in Black.

I turned that simple card front into a shaker card by cutting out the Wild Berry glitter paper rectangle with the Stitched Rectangles Thin Cuts.
Aren't the Wild Berry sequins absolutely gorgeous?

My second card is a little simpler version and uses the new color Papaya.
Again, I think the simple stamped version makes a pretty card in and of itself, but I took it to the next level by tracing the "shadow" with my black journaling pen and adding black burst sequins.
Finally, I added some sparkle, because you can never have too much sparkle (!), with Papaya and black shimmer trim.

Thanks for visiting!  Please leave a comment before you hop to Lauren's blog next!

Wander Scrapbooking Workshop Layouts

Today is the last day to order from both the July/August idea book and the 2020-21 core catalog!  I wanted to share two of the three fabulous layouts you can make with the Wander scrapbooking workshop.  They are pretty amazing, if I do say so myself!

Can you believe that I only needed my photos, some adhesive, and a journaling pen to create this incredible layout?  That "Let's Go" sentiment overlay is part of the kit!
Stickers and die cuts are also included in the workshop package.
I added a photo place holder where a photo will go that has yet to get developed.

I can't believe how much fun this layout is!  It would normally be too "busy" for me, but I love how it worked with my photos and story!

On the bottom right corner, you're seeing a sneak peek at new product!  That's all I can say until tomorrow...

Be sure to check out our scrapbooking workshops.  You can make six amazing pages (three two-page layouts) with minimal extra supplies.  I love them and would love for you to try them for yourself!

Butterfly Backgrounds Thin Cuts Card

The Butterfly Backgrounds Thin Cuts is one of my favorite new products!  Here is the card that I made at my recent card class.

I cut two panels with the Thin Cuts die: Canary and Lilac.  (Both colors are retiring!)  I chose to layer the Canary on top of the Lilac, although I am sure it would be lovely the opposite way.  I used a Sage panel as my base layer.
Because I was using the light side of the Canary cardstock, when I popped out the tiny butterfly cuts, I flipped them over and adhered them dark side up to provide a little more contrast.  Hopefully in the close up photo you can see how I added clear shimmer brush to all of my Canary butterflies.

Every Bit of Wonderful Isabella Card

Isabella is such a pretty paper pack, and I couldn't resist pairing it with one of my favorite stamp sets, the Operation Smile Every Bit of Wonderful stamp set, and one of my favorite Make It From Your Heart, Vol. 4 sketches.

After stamping in Bluebird ink and fussy-cutting the flower, I colored it with clear and Lemonade shimmer brushes.  Adding some of the Isabella Acrylic pieces would have also been pretty!
The papers and stamp set are all retiring at the end of the month, so be sure to get yours soon!

More Tutti Frutti Summer Stamp of the Month Cards

These two cards were featured in my August card class.  The first one may look familiar, because it's my second version of this card design.

I used more cardstock and less patterned paper, and I like the results even better.
Here's a close up of the Lemonade and Green Apple shimmer brush.

My second card uses my Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers to color the fruit (plus a pop of Lemonade shimmer brush).

Do you see where I accented my card with doodling with my journaling pen?  (Shout out to Melissa Robinson for this card inspiration!)

Be sure to get your Tutti Frutti stamp of the month before the month ends!  Learn more HERE

H2H Challenges: Vacation/Staycation

Summer is definitely time for vacations, and whether you traveled near for a staycation or far for a vacation, Heart2Heart Challenges would love for your to share your trip!

My family had the incredible opportunity to RV out West this summer, so I decided to use this family picture of us at the Grand Canyon as the opening photo on the title page for our album.  I knew that the Wander collection was going to be the perfect suite for our trip!  I decided to use Pattern 2 from the new Make It From Your Heart, Vol. 5 as my inspiration.  Because my photo is horizontal rather than vertical, I made some of the paper strips wider to accommodate my change.  My embellishments are from the Wander sticker sheet and die cuts, plus wooden hearts and gold glitter gems.  (If you look closely, you'll see a sneak peek at a new product coming to you September 1!)

Be sure to join the H2H team and share your vacation/staycation projects with us before the end of the month!

August Technique Blog Hop: Anything Goes!

This month's technique hop is so fun because literally, anything goes!  (If you're already hopping, then you've probably arrived from Darlys's blog.  From here, you'll visit Brandi's blog next.)

To create this butterfly card, I used my Butterfly Background thin cuts die to cut scraps from Ballerina, Peach, Canary, Sage, Glacier, and Lilac cardstock, and then fussy cut out the larger butterflies.  I arranged them on a White Daisy panel along with some of the tiny flowers, then layered this panel onto a piece of Pewter cardstock.
Here's another view at an angle so you can see those beautiful dimensional butterflies.  I added a few white enamel dots to finish it off.  Don't be afraid to use your Thin Cuts in different ways!

Please leave a comment before hopping on over to Brandi's blog next to continue the hop.

August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop: Tutti Frutti

The August Close To My Heart stamp of the month, Tutti Frutti Summer, is so much fun!  Follow this blog hop for some totally terrific Tutti Frutti inspiration.  (If you're already hopping, then you've probably arrived from Krista's blog.  From here, you'll visit the talented ScrappinKaty next.)  I ended up making three different cards for this blog hop to introduce the Tutti Frutti Summer set.

For my first card, I cut out squares from the Isabella collection "tile" paper and then placed them on the "trellis" background to create this card following a sketch from Make It From Your Heart, Vol. 5.  I stamped the sentiment in Bluebird ink and then colored the lemon with two of my TriBlend markers to match.  I inked the edges of the sentiment to help it pop a bit off the background, and placed a piece of Lemonade shimmer trim behind it.

My second card uses the same background from Isabella, but I added a Canary sun that I had cut with my Cricut and had in my scraps.  (By the way, Canary is retiring at the end of the month, so be sure to stock up on this buttery yellow before it's gone!)  I hope you like the Solar Flare Stickles Glitter Gel that I added to the sun!  To stamp my sentiment, I first inked it up in Bluebird then inked up the F, N, S, & N in black ink.  The lemon slices are a separate stamp, so they were easy to ink & stamp in Canary.  Here's a look at the stamp set so that you can see how the stamps work together.

My third card is a totally different clean & simple card using Candy Apple, Green Apple, Black, and White Daisy.  I love our clear My Acrylix stamps!  They make it easy to ink up a stamp in multiple colors prior to stamping.  (Here I used Candy Apple and Green Apple to create all of my strawberries.)
I grabbed one of my green TriBlend markers to accent the little designs by "you" and added two black enamel dots.

Thanks for visiting!  Please let me know which card you like best before hopping over to ScrappinKaty's blog for more Tutti Frutti Summer fun!
