Sundays Are for Sketches: 5 of 22

Do you follow Stampin' Up! on social media?  If so, then you might have seen this post, which is also this Sunday's sketch!

I love the twist of paper strips in lieu of the banner background and the pretty hexagon focal image.

Here is the recipe for my take on Sketch #5 from the Annual Catalog 2024-25 (p. 22):

Again, I’ve used the Unbounded Beauty DSP with In Color 2024-25 cardstock and glimmer paper.  The sentiment is from the Sentimental Park stamp set.  I also added a few In Color glimmer gems.

If this sketch inspires you, please share your creations!

Charming Ducks/Lily Pond Lane Birthday Card

Our daughter picked out the Charming Duck Pond bundle & Lily Pond Lane DSP as a Stampin' Up! favorite, so of course I used the collection to make her this birthday card.

I carefully die cut the frame from the Limeade cardstock panel and added the die cut/stamped cattails (after stamping the brown spikes in Espresso).

I added extra lily pad die cuts & Liquid Glass “waves” to enhance this inside Capri panel.

Can you see the Wink of Stella shimmer on the frog’s body? I accented its eyes with dots of whit gel pen.

Here is the card completely open.  I added the white panels, strips of DSP, & the die cut/stamped duck.  All of the sentiments were stamped with Flamingo ink.

Remember that all stamp and die bundles are an additional 10% off until the end of this month only!

Beautiful Friends Layout

The colors of the Country Woods collection were perfect with the photos from this fun day, and I softened my layout with the addition of the flowers from Sentimental Park stamp set and coordinating dies.

Since I am still building my Stampin' Up! collection, I used Close To My Heart's Peach cardstock (light side) and Peach, Lagoon, Sapphire inks, plus a retired CTMH alphabet set.

I really love how the coordinating dies match and accent the stamp set.

Don't be afraid to mix and match!  I love how all of the elements came together to help commemorate this special day with special friends!

Happy 6TEEN Birthday Gift Card

How my youngest nephew has turned 16 is beyond me, but alas he is!  I had lots of fun creating this Z-fold card with a gift pocket for some $$ for him!

Everything I used was from Close To My Heart, but I made a similar card HERE for Father's Day.

If you didn't want to make a gift card holder, that pocket could easily be a panel of pretty patterned paper instead.

Sundays Are for Sketches: 4 of 22

How was your week?  I am loving all of your creations!  I hope you're enjoying this series as much as I'm enjoying sharing with you!  These sketches are all found on page 22 of the Stampin' Up annual catalog, and I'm sharing my take on each one for 22 weeks.

Hopefully you aren't tired of the Unbounded Beauty DSP or the In Color cardstock and glimmer paper!

I think next time I will use a mat on the large rectangular panel and some colored cardstock for the sentiment strip.  It's still a pretty card, though, in my opinion.  Don't you love how you can create something simple or something elaborate with the same sketch?  I can't wait to see what you make this week!  Share in the comments or on my Facebook page!

Happy Father's Day Card #2

This fun Z-fold gift card holder was easy to make for my dad for Father’s Day!  I had to use the Take to the Sky suite since he is a pilot.

If you didn’t want the gift card pocket, you could easily trim that center panel down to fit.

I used two retired CTMH stamps for the sentiment & accent.

Adventures in Food Layout

Here is my final Lisbon layout which again uses the retired CTMH Let's Go Anywhere collection and die cuts.  Don't feel like you have to scrapbook your memories in the order that they happened!  It made more sense to me to combine some of our food experiences on one layout rather than when they actually happened.  YOU get to tell YOUR story!

Also, please include your handwriting in your scrapbooks (at least occasionally), even if you hate it.  Your family will treasure your handwritten recollections.  (I do type and print longer stories but usually just jot out my thoughts for my layouts.  Life is short!)

The Monument to the Discoveries and Jéronimos Monastery Layout

For this layout, I continued to add Stampin' Up!'s Take to the Sky paper to the retired Close To My Heart Let's Go Anywhere suite.  I also used CTMH's two-tone cardstock with white core for the technique.

Again, I was able to add more photos with the addition of a pocket page between the two main pages.

Do you like how I highlighted Portugal on the map with the arrows?  A subtle but fun addition to the layout/story!

Happy Father's Day Card #1

This card was fun to make for my husband in honor of Father’s Day!  I love using two-sided DSP and folding to show both sides.

I used the Take to the Sky paper suite with retired Close To My Heart stamps & embellishments to stash bust. I scissor-distressed the navy cardstock edges for a fun look.

The guys in your life appreciate being treated to a special card too! Reach out to make someone’s day better!

Sundays Are for Sketches: 3 of 22

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there and to all the men who have stepped up to be a father figure in someone's life!  (I'm really grateful for these two, my dad and my daughters' dad/my husband!)

Now it's time to share Sketch Challenge #3!  Thanks to all who shared their creations last week.  Here are my suggestions for Sketch 3:

Again, I used the beautiful Unbounded Beauty DSP, this time with a Summer Splash cardstock base.  (I really can't decide which new In Color is my favorite!  They are all so pretty!). Rather than use ribbon or twine, I added a strip of Pretty in Pink glimmer paper.

See those pretty glimmer gems on the sentiment?  One of them is covering up a booboo!  When I inked up the "happy" portion of the stamp (from the Sentimental Park stamp set), I accidentally got a little ink on the B.  Rather than flip the oval over and try again, I added the gem to cover it up (after inking and stamping the "birthday" portion of the stamp).  As my dear friends/longtime customers know, "it's not a mistake; it's an opportunity to embellish!"

I can't wait to see your take on this sketch!  I've had a lot of fun making these cards (and as you can tell, I am in need of birthday cards because I am committed to sending more birthday cards this year).  Share your creations in the comments or on my Facebook page.

Lisbon Churches

Because I had so many pictures, I used a free photo collage app to add two photos to one 4"x6" frame to be able to print multiple 3"x4" photos easily.

I continue to use the Let's Go Anywhere collection from Close To My Heart, but this time I added some of Stampin' Up!'s Take to the Sky paper.  I love how well products from both companies are working together!
If you look carefully, you can see that I used a page protector from my stash to add extra 3"x4" photos/mats between the two pages.  I really hope that SU! will be picking up some of these products!

Sundays Are for Sketches: 2 of 22

Can you believe another week has come and gone?  Thanks to everyone who participated in last week's fun sketch challenge.  I'm back with sketch 2!  (Again, these are my interpretations of the 22 card sketches found on page 22 of the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.)

Again, I used Petunia Pop cardstock, Unbounded Beauty DSP, and the Sentimental Park stamp set.  In addition, I added the die cut frame from the Sentimental Park dies.  The white thread was from my stash.  (It's always great to do some stash busting!)

I can't wait to see your take on this sketch this week (and beyond)!  Share in the comments or on my Facebook page.  Thanks for having a little crafty fun with me again this week!

Lisbon Layout #1

It was so fun to add more color to the Let’s Go Anywhere kit! I added Honey Butter & Grape to help me create a rainbow because those tones worked well with the original kit colors and help complement the pinks and purples in my photos.

Tearing the cardstock to expose its white core and using both sides (dark and light) add a lot of interest.

Enjoy the Ride Scrapbooking Workshop Layout #2

Using kits is such a fun (and easy) way to get photos on layouts and in books/albums for my family to enjoy!  Here is the second layout from the CTMH (now SU!) Enjoy the Ride scrapbooking kit.

Our family's Mother's Day get together provided the perfect photos to coordinate with this layout.  I am loving the squares on yet another layout, and of course I made the kit my own to fit my photos.

NOTE: If you were a CTMH customer prior to its close, if you create an account with Stampin' Up! using the email you had your CTMH account with, then you can find the CTMH items that Stampin' Up! procured.

Enjoy the Ride Scrapbooking Workshop Layout #1

I have loved the Close To My Heart scrapbooking kits, and the Enjoy the Ride collection is no exception!  I love the fun summer colors and theme to this kit.

This kit helped me get some photos scrapbooked that have been printed but not used.  I love that it was so fast and easy!

If you are a former CTMH customer, you can find the CTMH exclusive products on the Stampin' Up! website if you create an account using the same email you had with your CTMH account.  This kit and the new Lake Life kit are now available!

Sundays Are for Sketches: 1 of 22

In the current Stampin' Up! annual catalog, page 22 highlights 22 different card sketches.  For the next 22 weeks, I am going to feature each one and encourage you to join me to create a card (or other project) with the sketch.

Here is the first sketch and my suggested measurements:

Here is the card that I made using Petunia Pop cardstock and glimmer paper with the Unbounded Beauty DSP.  My sentiment is from the Sentimental Park stamp set.

I added a few In Color glimmer gems for a little more pizazz.

Please join me in creating something this week with this sketch!  Post in the comments or on my Facebook page.  Let me know if you need any help.  Happy crafting!
